Bowl Action - 9 games

Hey fellas, I am new here but wanted to jump in and toss out my picks for the holiday bowl season. My specialty is west coast teams (WAC and Mt West) and I have been very good over the past few years especially with the smaller west coast schools. I don't have record because I had no reason to record it or tout it but I have made money each year. I am on 9 games this year

Lets get some money

Note: Some of the lines may have changed, I bet these the first day they came out.

Stanford +9
The Pac-10 is better than people think (once again) I actually like most of the Pac-10 schools this bowl season. They beat each other up and now its time to go beat up someone else. Stanford will control this game on the ground and Oka will not be able to stop Toby. I think Oka will win the game but 9 is way too many points here.

Oregon St -2.5
I love BYU but they are too slow to stay with the Rodgers Bros and the OSU offense. Beavers by 7.

Oregon -3.5
The ducks offense will run circles around the fat, slow OSU D. And the Bucks will have to rely on Pryor to keep them close (yikes). Ducks by 10

Fresno St -10.5
Fresno State's running game is solid, real solid and Wyoming's run D is bad, real bad. Fresno State will run ALL over Wyo in a high scoring game. Bulldogs by 14.

Miami -3
Miami is back, sort of, but back enough to trash a Big-10 team. Wisconsin got dismantled by FSU last year and I predict more of the same here. Miami wins by 14.

Nevada -14
This is my best bet. Nevada is the best team in the nation that no one knows about. They have made me SO much money this year. I was thrilled when they started the season 0-3, I knew I would get some great opportunities to load up on an undervalued team. Nev has the best ground attack in the nation and SMU is not a great run stopping D. Nevada, again, has something to prove and I can see them winning this game by 30. Nevada wins by 21

Georgia Tech -4
Iowa will not score over 10 pts on GT and the Jackets big play offense will hang some scores on the slower Hawkeyes. GT by 11

These next two I am not in love with but I still feel good about them:

Florida -10
Florida has a great D and Cincy has a great O, the difference is that Floridas offense is decent and Cincys D is aweful! Plus this will be the Timmy T farewell show and I predict a great game from him. Florida by 17

Clemson -7.5
This is my least solid game, I just like CJ Stiller to have a huge game after not getting invited to NY, and Kentucky is a marginal team from an SEC that is overrated this year. Clem by 10

Stanford is getting a lot of points, but they have lost their QB, and Pritchard is terrible. Luck was a major reason for the Stanford success. His passsing abilities opened things up for Gerhart. I am looking for a low scoring game here. OU has the advantage of playing many ames without Bradford. Stanford is in for a new experience. Pass.

I like both Oregon schools to cover. Oregon State will hae to depend on teir team speed, but should prevail. Oregon is a no brainer. They are much faster than Ohio State.

I agree with Miami also. They will be much faster than Wisky. Harris should have a field day against this team. Until the Big 10 can show me that they have any speec at all, I will fade the majority of their teams, and Wisky is no exception.

I also like Ga. Tech's offense to dominate a slower Iowa defense. I will say that Iowa is one of the few Big 10 Teams that actually plays decently in Bowl games, so they can certainly make it closer tha some expect, but in the end, the explosiveness of Tech will be too much.

I can't buy your Clemson play. They are coming off two bad losses. They are 0-3 in their last 3 bowl games. Kentucky is just the opposite. 3-0 in their past 3 bowl games, including a win over Clemson. Kentucky also plays well away from home. You also have a match-up between the SEC and the ACC, and we all know how those go generally. Spiller may get his yards, but Kentucky certainly has enough horses to keep this game close, and cover.

I agree with these play minus the GT/Iowa Play.........Kirk ferentz will have this team prepared for the GT Offense..............Iowa's defense is not slow............they have playmakers throughout the defense and are much faster than Iowa has typically been in the past, ......................DT Adrianne Clayborne is going to have a huge game...........


Also: Iowa gets back QB Ricky Stanzi and RB Adam Robinson for the bowl game so they should be able to put up some points..........................take the Hawkeyes ML......................they win this one outright

Good Points all. Like I said when I look at my slips I am least excited about the Clem-UK game. I appreciate the discussion. I live outside the US now and bouncing thoughts and ideas off the guys down here is about as productive as talking to your dog! I hope to be back here next FB season helping everyone make some cash on those WAC and Mt West games that have been so good to me over the past few seasons!
