Stanford QB Luck not playing in the bowl game?

Why is he not playing? If this is the case, it will have a huge impact. Luck was one of the best QB's if not the best QB, in the Pac 10. He made defenses play honest, paving the way for Gerhart. Witout him, OU puts 8 in the box and stacks against Gerhart. If what you say is true, this may be another 3-0 Sun Bowl. OU should be favored if Luck is out.

He has to have surgery on his hand due to an injury against Notre Dame.

I heard it on a radio report, they didn't say which hand. It better be his throwing hand!! Cause I WAS looking forward to the game too.

First news was 'doubtful' then changed to 'out' according to the lastest release. Here's the link...

Well, it looks as if I get to sleep in on New Years Eve day because this game will not be worth watching. You can see the Air Force and Houston light up the scoreboard in the early game, then catch a nice nap before the Chic-Fil-A Bowl, because Iowa State and Minnesota will be equally as boring in the Insight Bowl.

Luck has had the pins removed from his hand today and is possible to play tomorrow according to Harbaugh. Will update if I hear more.

Yeah I got OU -9 early. After puttin together a winning season with as many injuries as OU had...Stoops will not lose this game and will cover. Yes my id says sooner but don't get it twisted I cap based on stats, facts and numbers not on being a fan. The sooner defense is stout and ready to close out the year on a good note. Take OU whether Luck plays or not! This spread should be -13 by my calculations. I have it at 37-24 OU wins. Goodluck!

I do not see how he can play. They took the pins out of his hand, but it can not heal in a couple of days. 10 points is a lot to give in this situation. Stanford +320 on the ML may be a good play, considering OU's bowl record of late.

edit: disregard this, i was thinking of the other game tonight.

i havent heard too much about this injury though. is it for real or just a sooners fan joking around? i was actually leaning OU, but still undecided

No, but OU has a top rush defense. Stanford's passing game must be established to open up the running game and holes for Toby.
