    College Football Gives Us Nothing!
Besides missing out on the obvious enjoyment of having Playoffs...We are laden with many other ramifications...

    1. Teams scheduling out of conference cupcakes...because they are unjustly rewarded for it - Texas...So we get an abundance of dull Regular Season games.

2, When controversy arrives, we have to deal with the affects not just that year, but the year after as well- Texas...Nobody questioned their RIGHT to the throne all year because appaently they got a raw deal last year.

    3. We have to deal with the BCS system covering their A$$ by having Boise State play TCU in "The Kids Table Bowl." Kills me. This is two birds with one stone for the BCS as they don't have to suffer the shame of each team stating their claim against a bigger school.

    4. The bowl system - yet another way this Country gets to celebrate mediocrity. I don't care how much fun a crap team has at Sea World, or hear about bowl luncheons. Your fun and ridculosness comes at my expense.

    5. False David V Goliath...Normally D v V is a cool thing in the world of sports...Not when David shoves someone else(perhaps a more deserving David) out of the way. And what is more is they get doubley rewarded for it by having the psychological advantage of playing with the "Nobody respects Us" chip on their shoulder...

And when this* propels them to a win..which it can...all the "experts" will sit back, chuckle and say, "And we thought they didn't belong there..." They Didn't!!!

    6. I could go on , but I know I lost ninety -percent of you after the fourth word, and I apologize for that...but as we know the BCS is Un-American and is the worst thing going in Sports...And I'll tell you this: You won't catch me using Fed-Ex or buying any Tostitos...and that goes for all the Bowl Sponsors.

What is the gambling angle you might ask? Well, I would rather cap a contest without the variable of wondering "Does this team actually give a crap about this game?" In short, I would dominate in a playoff system.

    * For some reason this in the only way to pump up college athletes.

Sound and fury signifying nothing, and I read the whole thing, right, wrong, whatever one feels about the BCS it will continue to thrive as long as people continue to travel to watch thier teams play. The BCS could care less about "the gambling angle" its all about revenue they receive, the revenue at the bowl sites, hotels, resturaunts ect..... So if your team doesnt make it then they should man-up and play a big-boy schedule. Not just an occasional "big" game. Easy to get up for a game here and one there but try getting up for the majority of your games. As far as betting if you dont like the match-ups then dont bet. There is basketball and hey have a play-off...BOL

you do realize teams schedule years in advance, so the teams that were good back then could be shitty now? and texas scheduled utah, but they backed out.

I nominated it also because a good part of this is true.

College football does need a playoff system. Television rights would be huge.

You would "dominate"? Sure you would. That is why you do not post your overall record or keep a spreadsheet, because you would "dominate". I love you amateur gamblers who think you know it all. You do not "dominate" squat, and you know it. Get off your high horse. Stop making excuses for your losses because that is all you have done. If you do not like the system, don't let the door hit you in your a** on the way out. You can cry from now until hell freezes over, but you will change nothing. You are totally powerless to do so. Stop making excuses for yourself.

Thanks for the nominations and feedback...Almost stabbed myself in the eye just now listening to Bill Plaschke talk about how great the bowls are...

Big Daddy, way to take exception( and get all hot and bothered) about a relatively small part of my post...

I simply think meaningful games are - perhaps - easier to cap for someone who feels he knows more about football than gambling...
I have been doing this for a long while, but am not here to defend my status, especially after reading some of sheer mind blowing expertise some have posted in terms of numbers and percentages(money type stuff, not ATS). Simply Amazing IMHO.

And to that point, I have always had my best weeks when things mattered most - i.e. End of the year College Football, Championship Weekend and NFL Playoffs...The only BCS game I can recall losing in a long while is when Florida Beat Ohio State...Superbowls have been great for me as well...And this year the big games were big wins for me in College: Ohio State- USC, Florida-LSU, LSU-BAMA, - Oregon/Southern CAL and OSU/ Oregeon...

Sadly for an amateur like myself - there were not a lot of big games this year!

The last two weekends were really good for me. Rutgers and SC were my only big losses this weeeknd... Won Rutgers back at half tho.

Sixteenth place in the CBB basketball tourney as well, but in truth I know very little about CBB.

And no - I do not post picks. I am new to this great site, but just use it for entertainment, the rare good piece of game info and other opportunities such as contests.... Just sounds awfully involved, but perhaps I will next year...as it will offer a chance at more accountability and thought for an amateur like myself...A label, given the amount of College Football I win V giving it back in Baseball, basketball, Pro Football, PROP BETS and random tennis that I richly deserve.

And we the people could absolutley change the system if we were motivated enough!

People can not change anything. Only money can change things. Money and power. In order to get the changes that you and everyone wants, someone is going to have to prove that the NCAA Schools can make more money with a playoff than they can doing things the way they are now, and it will have to be substantially more. If you walk into my club, I can basically tell you how much you can drink, where you can sit, what you can do and what you can not do. I have that kind of power. You have the option of playing by my rules or taking your business elsewhere. It is the same with the NCAA. You can play by their rules, or watch the pros, or go to FCS games. Now if you have a little black box on your T.V, as I do, then you have some power. I am not going to watch the Sugar or Orange Bowls, and probably will not watch the Fiesta Bowl, which means they are going to lose Neilson points. That is the best that I can do. If a lot of people with those little black boxes turn off those games, then maybe the sponsors will listen, and in turn, the T.V. networks, which will affect the cash flow, which is the only thing that counts. I have encouraged other that I know who have the black box not to watch the BCS Bowl games. I will do my part. I say Boycott the BCS Bowl games.

Exactly what I feel...If we all just came to a conscious decision and didn't watch, didn't go to the bowls - we could perhaps have an impact...Money would be bigger with a playoff system...I am not sure why there is a debate about that.
