Number crunchers: Is USC officially out of the BCS contention?
They've got a mighty good CPU number and will be somewhere in the teens next week in the "human polls" after Oklahoma State, Clemson, and Utah lost yesterday.

Maybe it's just me, but it looks like they COULD sneak into the Top-14 (GT, Houston, Oregon State, Pittsburgh would all have to lose next week, and assuming no 3-loss team jumps them) at 9-3. That would put them at 15/16 in both human polls, and with the right CPU number (COULD end up at 13), possibly ahead of a few of those teams.

Oh man, if a 9-3 USC gets selected ahead of a 13-0 BOISE STATE by the Fiesta Bowl, we will never hear the end of it from the 50K Bronco fans.

If USC winds up ranked 14 or higher they have a great shot. It all depends on a couple of games. If Nebraska upsets UT that would mean the Big12 would get 2 teams in a BCS bowl and would subtract an at large spot. The Cinci Pitt game is interesting because no way in hell will the Orange take Cinci again especially how awful last year's bowl game was and the pathetic turnout. USC will get in over Boise, Boise would get in over Cinci at large. Iowa and PSU both will be fighting for a slot as well. Very interesting but don't count USC out.
