I got this from the Tulsa newspaper. Doesnt seem like Memphis is too ready to play.
I know Tulsa can score some points. But is Memphis goo enough to cover?
Memphis coach Tommy West is coaching his final game with the Tigers. Memphis (2-9, 1-6) has lost seven of its past eight games, including five straight.
Numerous reports have stated that Washington Redskins secondary coach Jerry Gray will be the next coach.
West said he understands his team's focus may not be on the season finale.
"Do we emotionally have the edge? No," West said. "These are kids. They are worried about who is going to be the new head coach.
"Is their focus right now just the Tulsa game? No. I understand that. I just want to finish this thing with some class."
West's concerns aren't just limited to his players, but his coaches.
"I told our coaches it is not a choice whether or not you want to finish this thing; it is an obligation," West said. "I think Memphis has been good to our assistant coaches, and they have a job. Obviously they are worried about their future as well."
