Meyer is a midwestern guy. He has said more than once that Notre Dame is his "dream job"----he even wrote about it in his biography.

In the book Meyer says "I wanted to go to ND, but my wife didn't think the timing was right".

Meyer was an assistant under Lou Holtz at ND.

Meyer grew up in Ohio and is a devout Catholic. I think he would go if the time and situation was right but he has a great gig out in Florida at the moment.
