TEXAS A&M -2.5 @ Colorado

After being humiliated by Kansas St., A&M has rediscovered themselves. Whereas, after Colorado's upset of Kansas, they apparently were satisfied with that as their swan song, and tanked it the last 2 weeks, especially on offense. Definitely 2 teams headed in opposite directions. The Aggies have become explosive on offense, whereas CU allowed 33 pts. in the 1st half LW. You don't have to be a VP at a Fortune 500 Company (like my buddy Serbone) to 'cap this one. CU's Coach Hawkins has had "little league coach" syndrome by playing his son at QB too long, despite his ineffectiveness. New QB Hansen was effective vs. KU, but my natural cynical tendencies suggest that Coach Hawkins is deliberately designing ineffective offensive plays so that Hansen doesn't show up his son. He knows he'll be fired at the ned of the year anyway, but Cody will always be his baby boy.

For what it's worth, Bookmaker has a great adjusted total for tonights Buffalo/BG game. Its Over 65.5 for +220. I expect this game to be a shootout anyway, so an extra 8.5 points didn't concern me.

The more I'm looking into it, the more I'm loving the Tx A&M selection. I think COlorado has quit on their lame-duck coach. They looked so bad vs. Mizzou, which is hard because Coach Pinkel is about as bad as it gets.

I think the Michigan game is strong not only because Michigan should have enough pride to want to redeem themselves, but also because Purdue blows. If Michigan were playing pretty much any other Big 10 Team I'd be hesitant, but Purdue has really sucked on the road this year.

ILLINOIS +7 @ Minnesota

I don't like the idea of betting on the lame duck Ron Zook like this, but the 7 points is just two enticing. Remember, Illinois was actually supposed to be fairly decent this year, but threw in towel at Halftime of Game 1 vs. Mizzou. Last week's offensive explosion vs. Michigan suggests to me that the Juice has finally arrived (be it 6 or 7 games too late) and maybe we'll start seeing the real Illinois. The only statistical matchup worth looking at here is the B10s #2 rushing offense (ILL) against the #10 rushing defense. That alone should keep the game within the spread. But don't underestimate the ineffectiveness of Coach Zook. He may suddenly institute a run & shoot passing offense out of nowhere this week. I'll take the chance.

Ok I just can't bite on this one. MINN got their offense going last week without their best player Decker out for the year. I think MINN shows up here on this one and has just enough D to cover the spread. As far as ILL goes they finally got a big win but like the saying goes "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and again" Plus you said it yourself The Zookster is down right awful!!!

Another angle supporting Illinois is that this is the 10th straight week for Minny without a bye. I considered the same angle betting against Purdue last week, and well, we saw what happened. I just don't think Minny's rush defense will be able to stop Juice and LeShoure.

LSU +8 @ Alabama

This game has been staring at me like the googly-eyed money stack in those stupid Geico Ads. LSU was my initial gut feeling, just because you have 2 Top 10 teams and the spread is over a TD. But then I remembered how horrible LSU's offense was vs. Florida last month. But then I also remembered how one-dimensional Alabama's offense can with Mark Ingraham being the main weapon. Jefferson is going to have to throw the ball effectively to Tolliver and LaFell for LSU to have a chance. As for the coaching matchup? I've never been sold on Nick Saban. He walks into good situations and it's going to be a couple years until we see how effective his recruiting/coaching really is. LSU has won five of the last six in the series. Apparently the two governors of these states have a side bet going. If 'Bama wins, LA Governor Bobby Jindahl has to give AL governor Bob Riley $1,000,000 of the leftover Katrina money, and if LSU wins, Riley has to outsource 10% of the state workers jobs to Jindahl's native homeland India.

I don't like the idea of betting on Okie St. after they lost their GOY to Texas, fairly soundly. Plus, I'm sure that tool Marc Lawrence has one of his stupid trends like "Don't bet on a team favored by 5+ points, coming off a home DD loss, playing on the road, in a state that voted Democrat in the last presidential election, on grass, with a forecast that calls for between a 20 and 40% chance of rain." Luckily for OSU, ISU has a terrible pass defense, and Zac Robinson has the highest pass efficiency rating in the B12. So even without Bryant, Robinson could have a bunch of 5' tall Puerto Ricans to pass to, and ISU still wouldn't be able to cover them. I think the Cowboys win this one big.

Entertaining thread I think the easiest play from one of your picks is Over 53 in the Michigan/Purdue game! Purdue has allowed 38, 35, and 37 on the road this year while Michigan has choked up 30+ points 5 times already this year! This isn't dear old dads Michigan D thats for sure! Purdue has a pretty good offense for a $hit team (except for last week) they just turn it over constantly...which is fine for playing the over! I think they hit 60 minimum...weather should be clear/50s as well!!

True story, when I was in the Marine Corps all of us would have to qualify once a year on the rifle range. This was in Lejeune btw. Well you are out there the whole day and don't have any food. So this hot dog guy comes up around lunch time and he always gets swarmed with Marines. I finally asked him how much he pulls in a year and he told me over six figures. He could be lying but regardless, if you make over $25,000 in Jacksonville NC you are considered a millionaire. Kind of sad but true. On a side note....Iraq hasn't been that dangerous since like 2007.

As far as the rest of the games are concerned, Illinois would definately be a pass for me. Zook is not going anyplace next season. So the "lame duck" aspect is out. I will also pass on 'Bama-LSU. Florida played like crap against LSU at Red Baton, and LSU still lost by 10. I know that Alabama sucks of late against LSU at home, and the 'Bama offense is no prize package, but I still do not trust LSU. With the total at 39,I would pass on this game.

Other than those two games, I think your card looks pretty solid. Again, I thank you for bringing in some comic relief in this place. Other than the picks that some of these clowns make in here, the place really needs it. Keepup the good work.
