#12The unranked team that almost beat Alabama (Tennessee) would only be a small underdog on a neutral site vs. the ranked team that Texas beat (Oklahoma State), so I don't think that should be much of a factor.Originally posted by jds07valmost losing to an unranked team @ home, or crushing a ranked team on the road. its 'what have you done for me lately'. this is no big deal, as AL can re-jump TX with a good showing SatComment -

#16Alabama didn't play this week. Morons arguing the Tennessee game was a factor don't realize it is irrelevant on a week to week basis only taken in the scope of things as a whole. Then again I'm preaching to morons.Comment -

#20Oklahoma State would be a bottom-tier team if they played in SEC.Originally posted by pokernut9999Who has Alabama played that is on par with Oklahoma or Oklahoma State ?
Oklahoma was a great win, and I am not knocking Texas by any means. It's just that almost all SEC teams play good defense, and any team can beat any other team on a given week. Tennessee even gave Florida a battle.
I guess the difference in SOS will become more apparent as the season goes on.Comment -

#22Defense my friend. That is what sets SEC apart from Big 12. Even in what you call a "weak" year, it is still best conference in the country.Originally posted by pokernut9999This year Oklahoma St would be top 3 or 4 in SEC.

And I live in Pa, so you can't pin a "homer" tag on me.

#26Still a lot of ball to play. Texas could lose to A&M or Kansas. They are good but like Fl and AL they are not great. AL has to play an improving LSU this week. In fact all could drop a game. Oregon and TCU are great sleepers that could pull it off.Comment
