Im leaning toward the over cause a turnover or fumble always happens atleast 2 times a game then factor in virginia tech offense on a weak north carolina defense well atleast late in their last game. Also thro in that north carolina can hrow the ball for the most part. It looks like the over wins for sure but please let me know what you think.

North Carolina has a terrible offense. They may not score in this game. Three out of the last 4 have gone under 42, and that is the number you are looking at now. I would play the under. Just look at UNC's offensive production against teams with decent defenses.

Don't be fooled by the FSU game, UNC's offense is lousy. However FSU, with all their injuries, has easily the worst defense in the ACC, so UNC was able to put some points up. UNC can run the ball some, but, when UNC had to try to pass in the last couple of drives to win the game, they couldn't move the ball at all. VT's defense is solid - the only teams that were able to put up many points against them in conference play, GT & Duke, both have good offenses. I'm not worrying about VT's pass defense as UNC couldn't pass on the worst D in the conference, I'm focusing here on VT's rushing defense. They played GT last week who has averaged about 300 yards this year on the ground with the option and allowed just about that 300. However, GT is a very good team and has played much, much better in the past couple of weeks than they did early in the year, so this doesn't scare me.

I look for UNC to move the ball a little primarily with the run but not up and down the field. I'd say they're good for between 10-14 pts, maybe a little more with if they can get some good field position through turnovers or special teams, a little less if VT really comes to play on Thursday night in Blacksburg coming off a tough loss to GT.

I think the overwhelming factor here though is the VT offense. They have been putting up lots of points lately, and I think would have scored more at GT but the option game controlled the clock and kept their offense off the field. GT had the ball for twice as long, VT put up 23 pts in 20 minutes on the field. UNC not going to be able to control the ball like that.

I think the UNC defense is a bit overrated, FSU has a nice offense but when they executed last week UNC had zero chance at stopping them. Take into account VT's extra motivation coming off a loss to GT and a home Thursday night game and I don't see them putting up any less than 35 pts. Other than Matt Ryan beating them two years ago, VT has fared really well in these games and I think is in a great spot for a blowout here.

I see this going to VT by 20, with it not being much of a contest, and over the 42 which seems a bit low. Will probably tease it to VT -10ish and over 36ish to give myself some room for error, although I'm a big ACC fan, have seen both of these teams play all year and think I have a good read on this one. Good luck.

somewhat repetitive but what was wrong with FSU's defense last week? some of them looked incredibly slow, like some 50 year-old guy from your office running a 10K. ok, not that bad, but some shockingly slow players, and i looked up the worst on the internet and he was a stud recruit

NC couldn't seem to stop FSU either, but at least their defense looked normal to the untrained eye

FSU has had a ton of injuries on defense. I have no idea why they are so bad but they are. Plus their offense throws 75% of the time and tends to not eat up any clock, therefore keeping the defense on the field more and making them less effective.

FSU-NC State over-under is all the way at 65 this week. Wow. Thing is it probably still goes over.

I'm would actually lean towards the under, this has the feel of a 27-10 or 24-13 type of game. UNC has a very good front 7, and VPI wants to get their work done on the ground - strength on strength. Something else to consider is the conservative nature of Frank Beamer when playing against teams with sub-par offenses, he is not going to take many risks on offense and will be content to play a field position game. He will not let his offense lose the game for him, he's going to rely on his defense and special teams. That's been his MO for as long as he's been in Blacksburg, and I don't think that changes on Thursday night.

Why would I be kidding? UNC scored 12 points against UConn, 7 against Ga. Tech, and 3 against Virginia. Not exactly your strongest defenses in the country. Va. Tech has a much better defense than any of those 3 teams. UNC has a terrible offense.

UNC Has a good defense. as well as Vt.
At the moment im leaning to the under even though im not a big fan of over and unders. The odds makers seem to think this will be a blow out by VT with all the points they Gave UNC.

UNC defense overrated. I think UNC is able to get on the board some between special teams and turnovers. Good luck to all - I'm playing a teaser, VT & Over
