The game completely revolves around whether Mikall Simpson will play or not for the Cavs.
    He plays UVA wins
He doesn' play UVA loses by 14+

Terry Kirby and Chris Slade. UVa was #1 going into that game and I think GT was #6 or 7. Anyway, Tech won and went on to beat Nebraska in the.... Citrus Bowl? Finished as co-National Champions with Colorado. Meanwhile Shawn Moore broke his wrist the next week against Maryland and UVA finished 8-4 I believe, losing to Tennessee in the Sugar Bowl. Memories....
Scott Sisson. One of the most clutch kicks of all time. And FYI, I resent 'co-NC'. Colorado had no business being ranked No. 1. haha (but seriously, they shouldn't have been ranked No. 1 - 5th down, phantom block in the back, etc.)

If UVA is that dependent on Mikell Simpson, they're worse off than I thought. I think the game revolves around turnovers. Quite simply, if GT wins the turnover battle the game should not be close.

                Pound it

I Love (LOVE LOVE LOVE) G tech here. Virginia is overvalued due to being undefeated, but theyve played no one. Sure, it could be a let down game for GT, but good coaching can overcome that and they're now in the driver's seat for the ACC. I dont even think this one will be close. I'll be putting a couple units down on GT. This is the game of the week (with Tulsa - Utep finishing a close second) as far as my money goes.

Good luck with whatever you do. but im telling you, jump on the jackets this week!

^^^Virginia is 3-3. I think you meant undefeated in the ACC, which isn't saying much to be honest. I like GT here, I'm not going to say I love them but I think they cover. GT can sometimes look like a jekyll and hyde team and that's the only thing that scares me from hammering this line.

The ineptitude of the Atlantic Division is what is hurting the perception of the ACC this season. The ACC Coastal has 3 teams in the Top 15 of the BCS standings (Miami, GT, VT) Along with the SEC West, the ACC Coastal might be the best division in any of the BCS Conferences this season.

Mikell Simpson is not a crucial player for UVA. He's just one in a stable of mediocre backs. Nothing special about him really.

Sewell not playing could have a significant effect. Even if he plays, his ankle is sprained so that's going to limit his running ability which is his true strength. Verica (2nd string) is capable at QB. He started last season and threw a lot of picks, but showed promise. He was the QB that took UVA into Atlanta and won SU as a 14 point dog.

There's something about this UVA/GT series that you casusal observers probably won't understand. It's one of the most interesting and entertaining rivalries in the ACC. Seems like every other year it's 34-31 for one team or the other. We go back and forth, back and forth. Doesn't matter who is ranked and who is in a down year, this game is always a battle. I'm looking forward to it as a fan. Should be a good one.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this thing at GT -4. If they still go out and lose straight up, it's a fluke, and I would still choose Tech if they had to play it again 40 times straight. That Tech offense is making fools of people, can't see Virginia shutting it down. If Virginia wins, they'll do it barely, and they'll have to overachieve to do it.

so keeping that in mind, the cavs this year are off their game, there is no real and has never really been a home field advantage at scot field
Okay, that's ludicrous. UVA has a HUGE home field advantage. HUGE. UVA is much better at home than on the road.

Virginia has played (in order) the #22, #35, #117, #66 and #88 total offenses in the land. It should not surprise that their 3 game winning streak coincides with playing poor offensive football teams in successive weeks.
As a Tech student, you should be able to recognize that UVA's opponents' offensive rankings are influenced by the fact that they have played Virginia's defense.

That may have contributed a little, but UNC, Indiana and Maryland were bad offensively before they played UVA.

GTech line not as loopy as Miami on -5 over Clemson. What am I missing on that? Clemson hasn't beat anybody, home or away, Miami would probably be the number 2-3 in the nation if not for the Monsoon in Blacksburg, VA.
