    Texas/OU: Texas is a lock at -3
I couldnt believe my eyes this morning when Texas opened up at -3 vs OU. Thats INSANE! The Vegas odds makers dont know what the hell they are doing.

OU is 2-2, borderline unranked, failing both major tests they've had this year. They've played Idaho St, Tulsa, and Baylor for their wins.

Texas hasnt played anybody either, but they did put up a 10 spot on Texas Tech, so that counts for something. Yeah, their offense didnt look good vs Colorado, but the random fans out there are putting too much stock into 1 game.

When Miami got blown out at Va Tech, everybody started betting money on OU the next week. Of course, that was absolutely stupid. You dont bet based on one game. You bet based on matchups and trends. Both of these favor Texas by a heavy margin.

Texas is going to use Dan Buckner or Jordan Shipley in the slot and they are going to go ape shit on OU's linebackers. They cant cover jack shit over the middle.

Conversely, Texas DL is going to absolutely manhandle OU's OL. OU's OL is the worst OL in the entire conference. They are a shambles, and they just lost another starter for the next game, Brian Simmons.

Texas -3 is easy, easy money. If you arent sure, just buy some points and bet at Texas -0.5 I dont know what the final score is going to be, but I will be putting down at least $5,000 that Texas will beat OU. I give OU less than a 10% chance to beat Texas.

I think Texas will win but I'm not sure if i would be putting that much money on this game.

OU lost by 1 point to top 20 BYU on a neutral field without Sam Bradford.

OU lost by 1 point to top 10 Miami at Miami.

So to sum it up, OU has lost two games by two points to good teams with all sorts of injuries.

I think Texas wins, however, Bradford is back and OU has been battle tested while Texas has not.

agreed... oklahoma could be 0-5 right now and that wouldn't matter. this rivalry game ALWAYS brings out the best in both teams, no matter who is on the field or not. this game is oklahomas season. doesn't matter if they lose out, beating texas is all they care about. now i am not saying they will, but i wouldn't call texas a lock.

This line opened at -1. We jumped all over Texas at that price. Either Texas is a NC contender or they are not. We know tha OU is not a NC contender. From what we have observed, a ton of money went down on OU in the future lines earlier this year, so do not expect to see this line go much higher. Right now, you can get OU +3.5 in some books in Vegas. By the way, in the past 10 years, this game has never been closer than 7 points, so if you like OU, you may as well take the ML, which is +130 at this time.

I think OU is going to win this game outright. UT has underachieved and they have started games flat as hell. McCoy has looked like shit all season and has been bailed out by Shipley. OU's defense is going to have an easy task limiting UT's passing game and UT has zero running game especially with 2 UT RB's out injured. OU is going to jump on them in the first half so take OU big in the first half. UT will battle back in the 2nd half but may have already dug too big of a hole. OU 1st half, UT 2nd half, OU wins the game...

Texas hasn't beaten anyone of note either. Without Bradford (and Gresham), OU lost two games by a total of 2 points.

The Horns D has given up 170 total yds the last eight quarters of football against UTEP and CU.

                      Head says Horns 27-13.

                      Heart says Horns 45-10

This is one of the sharper spreads I've seen this year. On face it looks like Texas should be huge, but OU is actually an excellent football team that is arguably one injury away from being undefeated themselves. It's also easy to forget that Oklahoma has faced a much tougher schedule this year. With Bradford back with a game under his belt, by my number crunching these two teams are dead even. If Texas gets a ton of money and the line goes above 3, I'd definitely fade and take OU.

This spread is due to Texas offense not doing well against a bad CU team. On paper it looks like Texas should win easily but this is a rivalry game, always a tough game to predict. I'm leaning towards Texas.

Lets look at it like this..Ou has lost two games to good teams by 1 point each time. WITH IMPORTANT TEAM INJURIES. The best player in the nation last year(as i recall he won the heisman) was out, broyles was out against miami, who everyone thinks is terrific, and it was at miami. Texas hasnt played anybody, tech is a decent team. But seriously at home Texas couldnt smash them, longhorns are very overated and i have a feeling ou is gonna smash them. The shipley gig isnt going to work as well as it did bc OU has had a year to prepare for it. I would like to know the last game Ou has lost without an important injury to their team??? Florida-Murray, Texas-our middle line backer!!(which is where texas dominated for the remainder of the game with shipley) Common sense says OU!

There's a lot of teams that CAN'T lose another game for certain title asperations. The problem is that they just might not be good enough to win in those situations. Plust Texas needs it just as badly.
