I was simply pointing out that Arkansas "killer offense" wasnt so killer when they played a good defense

#37I agree. I really like USC here at +17 or better. This is a classic letdown situation for Bama.

This is also a very odd homecoming for Bama. Odd because they aren't playing their usual HC patsy, and because it's a Top 25 matchup, it'll be a night game instead of a customary HC day game. Because of all the distractions, Bama usually aren't at the top of their game on HC.

I agree that this is a great situation in which to fade Bama.Comment

#38tease the 17 points just in case.Originally posted by Dbldown11right......this is how the books make so much money.

People thought Alabama was giving too many points on the road (6.5) to an average mississippi team. They end up beating the crap out of them...

Then everyone thinks alabama is just amazing and an obscene line of -17 comes up against a team that is better than Mississippi....Maybe not in terms of pre-season rankings, but that's not reality.

Now everyone is gonna jump on Bama and when they only win by 10 they will start screaming about how alabama is overrated. haha it's truely funny Comment Comment

#39by the way kentucky offense will be better, with randell cobb behind center, hartline the starter was not good, cobb will run an expanded wildcat and either newton or fidler, handing the ball off to lock, this will be are best offense since lorenzo, i would put cobb's athletic ability against anyone in college football, look at his stats especially the last gameComment

#41South Carolina's inability to sustain a real punishing ground game is the match-up is a real concern. In order to be effective against a team like Alabama you have to commit to the running game. Only then will it open up playaction and the screens that the Game Cocks need in ordier to score.

As far as the Florida game goes you really need to think about the fact that they just got that huge win over LSU. Arkansas while not having a threatening defense will certainly give up points in this game. However I have a feeling Florida might very well double their TD's allowed at a minimum this week. If and it's a big if, Arkansas can give Mallet just a little time he can find the holes we have in the secondary. That is ofcourse if the gameplan Petrino comes with has a good mix of deep and underneath routes. Major Wright is a hell of a hard hitting safety but when he is forced into coverage he still sometimes gets out of position. This could lead to a couple scores for the Razorbacks.

Nothing official but I would be inclined to lean towards Alabama or steer clear all together and lean towards Arkansas or steer clear.Comment

#42A bunch of games to consider here. First, Alabama and South Carolina. Very iffy, if you look at the teams that they have played. They can score against the weak defenses, but have problems aginst good defenses. The same holds true with their defense. The fact of the matter is tht South Carolina has played one team over .500 this season. Alabama's defense is the best that South Carolina will go up against so far this year. While 'Bama's offense may suffer a let down, their defense will not. Pass.

Arkansas at Florida. Everyone is boasting about Arkansas's offense, but again, look who they have played. When they played Alabama, they were held to 7 points. Florida's defense may be better, having held LSU to 3 last week. Florida's offense may not be quite back to 100% just yet, and 24 points is a lot. Pass on the side here. If anything, I would lookat a possible under play on an inflated total, if this turns out to be the case.

Cal at UCLA. Everyon is looking at Cal -3 here, but need I remind you that 3 is the exact number of points that the Cal offense has scored in each of their last two games. A couple of things that really disturb me about Cal. First, they do not play well in Pasadena, going 0-4 both S/U and ATS in their last 4 meetings. Next, they tend to quit on their coach. Once things start going bad for Cal, they tend to throw in the towel in tough games. They lost 6 out of 7 in '07 and 3 out of 5 last year. UCLAis 3-2 this year. Their home loss to Oregon was not as one sided as 24-10 may indicate. Oregon wasdown in the game until they ran the 2nd half kickoff back for six, and then interecpted a pass on UCLA's 1st offensive play in the 2nd half for six more. I would pass on this game.Comment
