Monescu's Fave Five and Why 9/19
Boise St. -7 - Always playing like they've got something to prove. Won't let the foot off the gas over conference rival Fresno St.

Cal -14 - If you've seen Cal play, then you know they've got great RBs and a very competent QB. Minnesota is just woeful, barely edging out their wins against an emerging Syracuse and Air Force. Cal scored over 100pts in two games--look for them to go nuts again.

Colorado St. +3 - What convinced me was how they beat in-state rival Colorado. CSU runs the ball well and quite frankly I'm not impressed with how Nevada; the mobile qb shit has just gotten old.

Cincinnati Pick'em - CU's qb has the poise and arm of an NFL pro, and at the very least two very good receivers. Oregon St. has that shit bag Canfield that puts up unimpressive numbers. Factor in that Oregon St. beat mediocre teams to get their 2-0 record and that Cincinnati beat Rutgers @ Rutgers so convincingly--the Bearcats don't give a shit about home field advantage--they're killers.

Hawaii +7 - UNLV sucks period. Touted as an early season sleeper, but they haven't produced. Hawaii's Alexander can throw and when you look at each respective running game head-to-head, Hawaii runs away with it.

I think I'll put a unit on each game ($100) and put in some kind of multi-team teaser.

    Good luck all.

I like the Cincinnati play alot. It's be a popular public play probably which concerns me a little but they did look very dominate in their opener.

The Cal play is another one that will be a big public favorite as well but like you have pointed out Minnesota has been less than impressive and Cal can be a scoring machine. There is the west/east early game thing and if Cal were playing Penn St I would think that would be a consideration but not the Gophers.

I want to play Hawaii myself just need to see them get another game or two on the books before I start pulling the trigger but I think you're right about them here.

Goodluck on all your plays and have a profitable weekend.

              Cal good

cal is good they need the wins like emmm bad. Because its all about the money man.
I read some where Cal was looking to build a sports rec center. I think they will get it.
Sports stadiums and rec centers are not built from lossing teams only winners. Except if your Jerry Jones and the Cowboys and dont need to always win and can have the media back you up. As far as tv ratiings are concerned. They are AMERICAS NFL HOME TEAM. Dont take my word for it look it up on google. Cincinnati Bearcats COACH made a deal with the school to include improving the stadium and adding seats when he signed his coaching contract. And MAN can that Cincinnati kid quaterback throw like at 77%. SURE ENOUGH NFL MATERIAL. I love going for the under the radar underated teams not being show cased on ESPN HYPE NETWORK. Now that being said im not saying these two teams will win all there games straight up but I am saying they will win a lot of games this year.

Thanks for the props! I appreciate it. As a rule, I bet on teams that I've watch play. And I try to watch the games that don't get national attention. I remember I listened to the Hawaii game on the radio in week one, just to get an idea of what they were about. I'll be looking out for next week's schedule and make my five picks again. Hopefully I'm on it like I was this weekend.

Other than that, I have an interesting system play based on Sunday Night Football and the O-line of the home team. I noticed that if you bet the teams that the starting O-line of the home team, you'd be ahead. Conversely, if you had bet the D-line of the away team, you'd be on the losing side in total.

I found that to be really interesting. In light of that, next week sees Indy @ Arizona. And here is what we have:

                Arizona's starting O-line are:

                Gandy - Notre Dame
                Wells - Clarion
                Sendlein - Texas
                Lutui - USC
                Brown - Penn St.

All that being said, I plan on tracking bets based on their college teams and take the points spread. There's of course no bet on Clarion.

Conversely, you might fade Indy's starting D-line, which would be:

                Brackett - Rutgers
                Wheeler - Georgia Tech
                Session - Pittsburgh
                Freeney - Syracuse
                Mathis - Alabama A&M

I'll keep you updated. Again, there's no bet on Alabama A&M.
