The line is currently 25 with my guy. I can’t see Tulane keeping it within 35, so 25 seems like a no brainer to me. I guess they could try bleeding clock, but I don’t see even that working.

Talk me out of a week 1 max play here…

I think there might be an angle on this game. A team that is consensus #2 has a reason to win BIG against weaker teams since #1 is so close. They lose the right to claim #1 if they struggle. Now dont tell me that college kids dont worry about being #1. They might say something different in public, but they are talking about it in the dorms and the coaches care also. This might manifest itself late in the game to get that last TD because it does matter for the rankings.
Now, is Tulane a team that can let a score be run up? They were #115 vs the pass last yr. Houston hung 49 on them, UCF 51. Tulane was an OK running team but OK was #9 nationally vs the run. I think OK will be a very stout D this yr. Better than last. The D coordinator is an ex Ohio St guy and has gotten better every year. The D is the most important aspect of covering a monster spread, dont give up much you dont need to score much. Very important especially the 1st game.
My take on this is that Tulane is outmanned. OK is both capable of hanging 60 as well as holding under 20. Laying 25 on the road is scary, the back door is wide. I dont know if Id lay the pts simply on principle. If I lose Id ask myself why I laid nearly 4 tds on the road?? I can see taking the sooners, but I think there might be better games.
        Just my 2 cts.

I appreciate the well thought out response. I think I’m just anxious for the season to start because to me this has 55-17 written all over it

My take--I don't see Tulane scoring more than 13. Can Oklahoma score 39 against the vaunted Green Wave defense??? Hell, Yes!!!
Drop a W here to start the season ...
