CFB Playoffs To Expand To 12 Teams
That is the recommendation of the group of College Football Playoff working group. The playoffs would consist of 6 Conference Champions (5 major conferences plus 1 from the Group of 5) and 6 at large teams. The top 4 Conference Champs would draw byes is round 1. The next 4 highest ranked teams would host the first round games. When the field is narrowed to 8, it is possible that rounds two and three of the playoffs will be played as Bowl Games in the Big 6 Bowls (Rose, Sugar, Orange, Cotton, Fiesta and Peach). It is possible that this playoff season could start as early as next season.

Not hard to see that coming. It will eventually expand to 16. Once they start expanding, they never stop until they get them all in.

exactly, now people will be arguing about the 13th and 14th ranked teams that should have made it in

This will do two things. First, if you worry about who the 13th and 14 team should be, you should be banned from this site. Who cares? Secondly, and certainly more realistically, it will give more meaning to the games in November because instead to fighting for 4 spots which are normally locked up by week 8, you have 12 spots to fight over.
