#44I see this as a game to stay away. Georgia has question marks at the QB spot and nobody knows how good or bad OSU's defense will be. I think Georgia will try to control the clock on offense and keep the OSU offense off of the field. The crowd will be freaking nuts though for this one.Comment

#45joe cox is a 5th year senior who knows the playbook backwards and forwards. he was going to duke before committing to UGA.

teammates have commented that he is more accurate and throws a more catchable ball than stafford.

he is also more of a leader than stafford ever was, and the whole team has confidence in him.

he won't be throwing any 40 yard frozen rope out routes, but i think with UGA's offensive line, and running game he should be able to move the ball pretty well.Comment

#46coming from a lifelong georgia fan, OK ST wins this game and wins it with ease. Ok St returns pretty much their entire offense and enough of their defense to shut georgia down. Moreno Stafford and Masaquoi ( who most people forget about how important he was to their offense) are all gone and that was the majority of their offense. Green is still a great reciever but hes young and drops a lot of balls.... maybe if this was week 6 or 7 GA could hang tough or pull off the upset but week 1 i just dont see them having enough chemistry and being able to hang within 10 points on the roadComment

 #47UGA ML,
 just cause I'm a homer.

"IF" Ga can keep containment on Zac and keep him in the pocket and apply pressure I think UGA wins this one.
 but its a big "if"
UGA offense should have no trouble moving the chains IMO. Samuels holding on to the ball is a different story though. Caleb King hasnt impressed me, and I believe Richt is looking to redshirt Thomas.

theres also talk of Richt implementing a "wildcat" set with Logan Grey in at QB this year. gonna be interesting

#48I think Kendall Hunter and Zach Robinson are going to put up some points. Who is Georgia going to score with? Georgias defense is going to be solid but Oklahoma can put up some huge POINTS. I see okla st. by 14 here. Home crowd is going to be rockin!"This is why my basketball intelligence is unmatched on this site. I'm sure there are better cappers but no one can tell you the strategies of most coaches before the game even starts "

#54Perrish Cox is a 2nd-3rd rounder CB matched up against Cox. Their Oline sans an injury will give Cox excellent protection against our questionable DL. Practice has been closed by Gundy for a week now, many think Bill Young instigated that. I expect him to improve our defense a lot. Similar to the '07 Kansas squad he coached.Originally posted by gremlinI took Georgia early, and I probably shouldn't have, but it's too late now. Hopefully their O-Line and A.J. #60offensive coordinator Mike Bobo said that breakout sophomore running back Richard Samuel is the fastest running back he's ever been associated with.

Samuel was 17 last year as a true freshman and got limited playing time behind Knowshon Moreno. he was a 5 star LB/RB recruit. this year he will be 18 throughout the whole season. he is now 6'2 225 lbs.

UGA's offensive line is deep and loaded with returning starters and should provide plenty of room for samuel to turn on the jets.

ALL SEC tackle Clint Boling returns. he was Freshman all SEC along with Trinton Sturdivant in 07, and then ALL SEC in 08. He is primed for another year of domination in 09. he is known for his high intelligence, and ability to play through pain, his ability to play tackle or guard, and his speed. a converted Tight End who was not even 250 lbs out of high school, Boling turned from being a 3 star project into an ALL SEC beast. Boling is the prototypical success story of recruiting a tight end and hoping he will turn into an extra-athletic lineman.

 6'5 295 Junior.

 accolades:
2009: Named Best All-Around Offensive Player at conclusion of spring drills

 2008:
*Named First Team All-SEC by Associated Press, also Phil Steele’s All-SEC Second Team
*Appeared in 12 games making 12 starts
*Started at LT vs. No. 22 Vanderbilt, at No. 11 LSU, vs. No. 5 Florida, at Kentucky, at Auburn, vs. No. 18 Ga. Tech and vs. No. 19 Michigan State
*Named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week (10/13) following win over Tennessee in which UGA tallied 458 yards of total offense; Boling started at right guard but an injury to a teammate forced him to move to left tackle during the game
*Started at right guard at No. 24 Arizona State, vs. No. 8 Alabama, vs. Tennessee
*Started at right tackle against Central Michigan and at South Carolina

Tackle Trinton Sturdivant who was a Freshman all american before tearing his ACL last year is back. he is 6'5 310 lbs.

Trinton played a lot as a true freshman starting Left Tackle and paved the way for Knowshon Moreno's breakout season in 07. he missed all of 2008 due to a preseason ACL tear. he is now fully recovered and healthy for his Redshirt Sophomore campaign.

Trinton is known as a great run blocker who really locks in and drives the opponent back using his speed to create separation for the ball carrier. he is also an above average pass blocker.

2007: Appeared in 13 games making 13 starts at left tackle
*Named Freshman All-America First Team by Scout.com and Rivals.com
*Named SEC All-Freshman by SEC Coaches and Sporting News
*Started at left tackle vs. Oklahoma St. becoming the first true freshman to start at that position in a season opener since Mike Fellows in 1989
*Named Biggest Offensive Surprise of the Spring
*Listed as number one LT at conclusion of spring drills

Anchoring one guard spot is the mammoth and athletic beast Sophomore Cordy Glenn. Glenn is 6'5 335 lbs, and has a great frame with not much fat. a potential All american and surefire NFL talent. Glenn is a great run blocker who just swallows up defenders. he is also extremely athletic and a fine pass blocker.

 2008: Named to CollegeFootballNews.com’s All-Freshman First Team
*Named to Phil Steele’s All-Freshman Second Team
*Named Freshman All-SEC by SEC Coaches
*Appeared in 13 games making 10 starts
*Started at left guard against No. 22 Vanderbilt, at No. 11 LSU, vs. No. 5 Florida, at Kentucky, at Auburn, vs. No. 18 Georgia Tech and vs. No. 19 Michigan State
*Started at right guard vs. Ga. Southern and Central Michigan and at S. Carolina
*Made Bulldog debut vs. Georgia Southern starting at right guard

The other Guard is Justin Anderson, a 5 star #1 OL in Georgia his senior year. after spending a year in prep school, redshirting at UGA, and overcoming a learning disability, this 6'5 330 lb stud is ready to dominate. filled in admirably at RT last year for UGA and started most of the latter part of the season. ALL SEC and NFL potential. his strengths are his ability to fire off the ball quickly and roadgrade in the running game. a herculean run blocker.

and finally, my favorite of the bunch, true sophomore "country mean" Ben Jones. a high intensity bulldog of a center, Jones is 6'2 300 lbs and is coming off a breakout freshman year where he won the starting job early in the year. he is the stereotypical NASTY lineman.

2009: Earned True Grit award at conclusion of spring drills

 2008: Named to CollegeFootballNews.com’s All-Freshman First Team
*Selected to Sporting News’ and Phil Steele’s All-Freshman Second Team
*Named Freshman All-SEC by SEC Coaches
*Appeared in 13 games making 10 starts at center
*Named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week (11/10) following game vs. Kentucky, where the UGA offense tallied 520 yards on 57 plays (9.1 yards per play)
*First-career start came at center at No. 24 Arizona State
*Made Bulldog debut vs. Georgia Southern
*Named Most Improved Offensive Lineman at end of spring practice
*Graduated early and enrolled at Georgia in January

#69Samuel has been working on the dropsies in the off season and has looked better so far. Offensive Coordinator Mike Bobo compared Samuels' break away speed to Robert Edwards...and Samuels is around 220 lbs. This guy was a 5 star recruit and is going to be a horse. I'd be more concerned about UGA's defensive play calling in this game. If Oklahoma State gets up early, it forces them to throw more with Joe Cox and I'm not sure that's a good thing.Comment

#70Joe Cox doesnt scare me, IMO he has the goods and the head on his shoulders to handle his role. Granted last time we saw him in action was a couple years ago wasnt it.
No doubt Samuels also has the goods. Hopefully his fumbleitis was caused being nervous being on the big stage. maybe he'll be more accustomed to it this year and step up.
as far as defense all I can hope for is they come in with a chip on their shoulders after getting manhandled in to many games last year.
I agree alot of that rest on Wille's shoulders. I'm still not sold on Wille and I dont think I'm alone.

but I still stand by my statement of the key to this game is containing and getting pressure on Zac.
frankly I dont like UGAs chancesComment
