Oklahoma State LB Amen Ogbongbemiga tested positive for Covid-19 upon his return to the OSU campus. He is considered one of, if not the top defensive player on a team that desperately needs defense. In case you are wondering, yes, he attended demonstrations recently, prompting a huge effort to try and find out everyone that he has been in contact with. This is just the very tip of the iceberg. Two other players also are reported to have tested positive for Covid-19.

5 tested positive at Alabama. I know at least 1 is completely asymptomatic.
That said, the test has false positive. If you had a flu shot recently, you can have a positive Covid test. It could be antibodies showing up. It doesn't necessarily mean anything. Young people with no other medical comorbidities usually have no problems with it.Comment -

As previously posted, USC will NOT shut down their campus. Now the question becomes where will they play their home games and in front of how many people? My guess is that USC will wait until the last possible moment to make that decision. Their first home game is scheduled for 9/12 against New Mexico, which would not exactly pack the house under any circumstances. Their next home game is 9/26 against Arizona State. a game that could well decide the Pac 12 South title. That game could be a sellout, especially if USC gets past New Mexico and a game at Stanford, and plays respectable against Alabama. But all of this depends on the Virus. Wagering on any college game is going to be a crap shoot this season because you will never know until the last minute who will be starting for any given team.Comment -

Thousands of college age kids have already gotten it and have shown no symptoms.

Texas announces 12 players now. Its just not going to happen this year. Havent even started pratice and popping up everywhere. Inevitably players will be ++, then quarantine then can't field team with enough players etc. Tidal wave building here.Comment -
Black players make up a rather large majority of the players on most teams and Blacks get hit the hardest with the COVID-19 virus. I do not see how the NCAA can possibly get their season going this year unless every school has 150 players or more. The thing that will hurt them the most is that all it takes is one key player, say a QB, to go down for the mandatory two week period and a teams season can be ruined.If Lawrence or Fields goes down for two weeks, say goodbye to Clemson's and Ohio States dream of an undefeated season.Comment -
African-American players aren't inherently more susceptible. Older AA are more likely to have diabetes, which is a risk factor. Disparate impact is due to their economic status, not their genomes.
