I mean normally laying 18 points on the road against a "name" school in week one of the college football season is a recipe for disaster, but this Cardinal team was a raging dumpster fire last year and I don't think they can pull a 180 in such a short amount of time.
Louisville was 108th in total offense last year and 122nd in total defense. Just look at their scores from last year, this team was BAD. Of their 10 losses, all but ONE of them were by 18 or more points, which happens to be the spread tonight. Now factor in the growing pains of a brand new head coach and you basically get a Notre Dame or nothing kinda scenario, unless you're just the contrarian type.
I won't say too much about Notre Dame. They did suffer some losses on the defensive side of the ball, but nothing that should be exposed in this game. Their offense returns 4/5 of the offensive line and the new starter at center is a sophomore they're really high on. Ian Book is back under center and the skill positions are solid across the board.
