    "HeHatesMe" week 1 NCAA picks.
as baseball had a weekend where players could put whatever they wanted as their name plate, thought it honor my favorite sports nickname ever.

anyway, i'm a big underdog player........ i like big underdogs from football-rich areas of the country, teams that can score and FADE teams that don't run up the score.

so here are my first picks, i'll just use pinny close to grade them

    duke
    csu
    syracuse (FAVORITE)
    salabama
    t state

eyeing FAU but haven't pulled the trigger.... maybe oklahoma state although i've been all over oregon state as improved team the off-season.

probably do more. maybe michigan too.

    more picks,

byu (utah not powerful offensively, BYU improved alot. rivalry game.... need to check the O/U history, but it's a pick anyway)

wf (USU big decline, WF better talent, home game with big travel)

    toledo (improved vs. big decline)

northwestern (stanford big decline. not powerful offense)

south florida (wisconsin big decline. SF very athletic....... although i'm sure wisconsin is close to 50% ATS over alot of time, it feels like a bad team to fade, but i'm doing it anyway.

    some watch list LEANS,

    unc (big move in spread)
fsu (if i had confidence in FSU QB, this would be lock of the year...)
georgia (doesn't seem like that many points vs. vandy....... but ga not good big fave. vandy might be tough)
rutgers (UMass had stud QB. lost him and many others. laying big points with rutgers??)
nms (would have played this pre-line move)

EDIT: i'm going to pull the trigger on UNC, FSU, NMS... so 3 more picks.

I grabbed Michigan before it I woke up Saturday and saw -35, so went ahead and got down before that.

No chance I can lay points w Rutgers, wernt they supposed to blow some shit team out last year and lost outright? No thanks. Lol.

Speaking of big dogs how you feel bout rice??? Army has Michigan up in week 2, you know they been eying that game all summer! Easy to look past shitty rice!! One of rice most glaring weaknesses (of their many) was pass defense, that should’nt matter vs army., army lost a very solid defensive cord. Seriously feel like if rice can simply muster a few tds it be very hard for army to cover here. I mean it rice so hold your nose but seems like a good spot for a big ugly dog:

Seems like everyone round here likes BYU, I gotta be against that. Utes look like legit squad and think cougars gonna have a incredibly difficult time scoring points.,

rice is interesting......... terrible state of program, but their HC (2nd year) is from stanford, which is very good.

not much feel unfortunately on rice or army right now

byu-utah...... gonna stick with BYU, but i see last year's game was high scoring (which is opposite to my premise)... i do remember byu going into seattle last year and getting slaughtered. i thought they were higher quality....... still like BYU, as mentioned, would never play utah here. no play would be the alternative.

I was scared to lay the points w utes so certainly not saying you wrong. I ended up w a cincy/utes ml parlay and a Utah-.5/under 54 6 point teaser, I don’t condone teasers w ncaa but these lower totals and td-ish spreads have more a nfl feel so think they can be ok.

on utah, i also have a theory that big up-and-coming conference champion picks often lay eggs.... maybe take their eye off fundamentals

same with hot heisman picks. see bryce love and khalil tate last year

1-4 ATS. counting WF as a LOSS although it still has a small chance of hitting.

rice looked good......... oregon state looking good so far too..... south florida, not so much

of the 4 losses, the one i regret most is BYU... utah had a stellar defense and a big two-pronged attack. clearly the better team

my thread is way too confusing... i think from now on, i'll do the picks in their own entry and have comments separate.

                  anyway,

2-7 ATS so far. not good........... i will note 2 of my losses crossed the spread this week. i.e. i'd be 4-5 ATS with opening line picks.

UNC and NW live right now.....
