I think this is one of the worst years for Bowl Games. The Match ups are just terrible. I will omit the Playoffs and just concentrate on the other Bowl Games. This is not easy:
NC. State vs Texas A&M. Jimbo is 5-3 against State in his head coaching career (all at Florida State). HC Dave Doeren
of NC State is 1-4 against Jimbo. Will things get personal between these two? An interesting game between these two with #2 Clemson as a common opponent. Both lost. NC State lost at Clemson 41-7 A&M lost at home 28-26.
Oklahoma State vs Missouri. The Liberty Bowl hosts many shootouts and this game should be no different. 6 loss Okie State needed an upset win over West Virginia just to get here. Missouri won 4 games in a row to finish at 8-4. Two of those losses were to Georgia and Alabama. This game should be very entertaining if you love offense.
Northwestern vs Utah. Two of the very best head coaches around and two teams who many not be the most exciting around, but who never quit. There will not be 70 points scored in this game and hopefully there will be more than 16, but if you like old fashioned smash mouth football, you will enjoy this game. San Diego on New Years Eve is a very great town to be in. I will be at the game with many family members from the greater Chicago and Southern California areas. Then to Little Italy and the Gas Lamp Quarter.
Nothing else looks very appealing to me this season. Let's see what the odds look like in a week or so.
