Apple Cup - washington at WSU (pullman)
i believe the line is WSU by 3...

can they finally break through? i didn't check the history but i can't remember a close game for a long long time and i can't remember a recent WSU win but there must be one somewhere.

game in pullman whereas i believe it's usually in seattle (often at seahawks stadiums)..

i have mentioned this before but these situations where a team improves but can't get over the hump in a rivalry usually explode big at some point in favor of the forlorned team.\

    thoughts?

It alternates every year, it was only at Century Link earlier this decade when Wash was renovating their stadium. Wash has handled them lately but 10 years ago it was actually a pretty good game for most of that decade

Dakota, thx. i wrote that stuff before looking up info.

yes, they do alternate every year seattle and pullman. that was news to me. i thought pullman lost its hosting rights for awhile recently (pac 12 told them they needed to improve hotels and similar type stuff).. and i sure don't remember alot of games outside seattle (i thought it was like florida/georgia where the game is always at jax, or ok/texas at texas state fair.

i didn't realize the hawks stadium game was one-time thing but you are correct.

WSU has won one of the last 9 or 10 games. the rest haven't been very close. but WSU did win 4 of 5 in years in the middle of the last decade.

so i was wrong on alot of counts... just goes to show why witnesses in court for old incidents can't be trusted.

The 2 you mentioned are the big annual neutral games....the only other ones I can think of within the power 5 conferences are Rocky Mountain showdown and then the 2 game in Arlington....Ark/Tamu....Baylor/T Tech

The Red River Shootout is at neutral site every year (Cotton Bowl at the Texas State Fair)...

CU vs Colorado State is the rocky mountain showdown.....good catch on Army/Navy....I was only thinking about teams in the power 5 (I know CSU isn't)

                so washington won fairly easily..............

i'm assuming weather played a role. it was very snowy in 2nd half, and miserable cold/wet in first half. washington runs the ball alot and well (lots of depth), WSU i'm not sure (a few years ago they barely ever ran it). anyway, passing was not going to work yesterday. not sure you could see the QB on a longer pass.

i had a theory that once teams catch up to dominant rival (dominant in that rival, not necessarily as conference powerhouse) they break through very aggressively (washington/oregon comes to mind) BUT at least 2 games proved me wrong this week (this game and mich/ohs.. although was michigan really the better team. i guess you could argue same with w/wsu)
