How Many Undefeated Teams Make The Playoffs?
There are currently 11 Undefeated teams in Division 1. How many of those will make it to the Playoffs as an undefeated team? Here is a hint. Three of these teams are in the same Division in a Group of 5 Conference. No Group of 5 team will make it to the Playoffs no matter what their record is. Only three of the 9 Power 5 undefeated schools will be favored in all of their remaining games. Name the teams that you think will enter the Playoffs undefeated.

I think Alabama, OSU and Notre Dame all have good shots of going unbeaten and will land in playoff if they do. West Virginia would go if they go unbeaten but their schedule is brutal and dobut they would. Then Clemson after that who has a very weak schedule this year but would get the nod as an undefeated team.

Every year teams look unstoppable and then injuries happen, pressure mounts at the end of the year, and teams lose rivalry games they shouldn’t because they play some 5-6 team that has nothing to lose.

This is college football. It happens every year.

I’m going to say that one team finishes unbeaten.

Everyone is already proclaiming Bama unbeatable but they have literally played no one. They played one decent team at home and didn’t cover.

Just wait. In November there will be chaos.

I think it’s more likely a team that currently has one loss gets in.

OU, Washington, Oregon, Penn State, or Michigan.

Bama only one I’d be confident in saying will be. BigD they been covering those monster spreads by halftime!! I wouldn’t read much into fact they don’t play 2nd halves. Guess the only issue is will they be ready when eventually the starters are forced to play the whole game?

Irish have to stay undefeated to make it. Their schedule is pretty favorable but that trip to usc looming large and think cost them their spot.

I think Clemson will take a L in one of their 3 games vs ncst, duke, or BC.

Ohio st always good for one fluky loss in big10.

Havnt seen wvu enough to say but just assume they will get beat by one the good teams they still have to play and prob slip up in another they should win.

Will be bama and bunch of 1 loss teams imo.

You’re probably right. That’s why I said probably only one undefeated team makes it. With that said, I’m not ready to declare Bama unbeatable yet.

Ohio State is getting their doors blown off by 3-3 Purdue. This chaos happens almost every year. Three undefeated power 5 teams is very unlikely.

Michigan probably ends up being that 1 loss team to get in out of that group I previously mentioned.

Ohio States chances just went down the drain. UCF now gets in over a 1-loss OSU. This loss was so bad it basically took OSU out of convo altogether. Notre Dame now can afford a loss and get in over Ohio State. Oklahoma and Texas get in over them. Two-loss LSU or georgia get in over them. It’s over for the Buckeyes.

There will be more losses. It’s college football.

I can’t believe so many people thought there would be three undefeated playoff teams.

It’s still possible I guess but just not likely.

We’ve seen Clemaon struggle with Syracuse at home and Notre Dame struggle with Pitt and Vandy already.

There will be. But this was a bad loss. And bad losses count a lot in the end when comparing one-loss teams, although I think Michigan will likely hand OSU another loss. I just don’t know how OSU has any chance of getting their respect factor back after this. This was a very bad loss.

                    Totally agree.

Michigan lost on the road to a top 10 team by one score.

OU lost at a neutral site to a top 10 by 3.

                    Even Georgia’s loss was better.

At the end of the year Ohio State shouldn’t be ahead of any of these teams if they have the same record.
