I'm liking FAU to cover 20.5 at Oklahoma
1st game of the season with a lot of new faces on both teams. FAU came on real strong to end last season 10-0. Kiffin really coached them up. Their offense was exciting last year but loses a lot. I think the QB position will be easily replaced and they are bringing in a bunch of solid juco transfers, so i can see this team reloading and causing trouble for most teams. The defense is very suspect, not sure they can stop an OU team BUT OU is replacing Mayfield which is never easy to do. An early 11am kickoff means OU fans won't have enough time to get liquored up. I like Kiffin to prepare these boys as if it's their Superbowl. They'll strike early, then fade in the middle but get a back door cover late.

FAU +20.5 and I'll sprinkle a bit on the +795 ML.

FAU having a new OC and DC doesnt concern you any? Two all conference off linemen gone. Top 2 of 3 receivers gone to NFL I believe. Kiffin USC fading in 2012....this scenario sets up similiarly. Oklahoma probably having the #1 offense in all of college football. Could be blowout city for Oklahoma on an overhyped FAU team.....

I like Pecoraro and Weis Jr as coordinators. No dropoff at all. OLine should be about the same but less depth. No dropoff in the skill positions either. Kiffin faded at USC because of scholarship reductions/depth. That's not the case here. I think FAU will be better this year.
Singletary is one of the best RBs in the country. Nero Nelson and Durante will fill in nicely in the passing game plus they have a great TE and they upgraded the QB. Damn near everyone is returning on defense which will allow Pecoraro to be much more aggressive on defense than last year. He's a tireless defensive coordinator that will find a way to slow down that Sooner offense. Jalen Young and Shelton Lewis are 2 of the best DB's in the country. LB Al-Shaair is one of the top LBs as well.

OU might run it down their throats with their great offensive line and stacked backfield but Kyler Murray ain't beating them with his arm. I don't think OU will have a top 10 offense this year with Murray at QB. I'm not a believer but we'll see. I think FAU can get enough stops by forcing OU into one dimension run game. I think OU's defense backfield is garbage. Can they get enough stops? I don't think so. FAU is going to put up points on that defense. OU lost their best defensive player, their Jack LB plus key DT and Safety. Their DB's are suspect which is why I think FAU covers easily.

I was trying to be devil's advocate there. Not sure which way I'm going on the game or betting it at all, but I was leaning Oklahoma so what you said makes me think about my position and to either do more research or not bet it at all. Thanks!

I live in Norman Ok and I see this OU offense really dropping off big time. If they are forced to pass they may be in trouble.....

            OU alumni here.

I think FAU has a great shot to cover. I wouldn’t waste money on the ML though.

I could see OU winning like 38-21 or 38-24.

The offense obviously iwon’t as good because of the loss of Mayfield, Andrews, and Brown...three NFL draft picks but it will still be good enough to score all over FAU.

OU has one of the best WR corps in the country, one of the best o-lines in the country, and one of the best RBs in the country.

Kyler Murray doesn’t have to be great for this team to put up points.

Defensively is where all the question marks are for OU.

Even if OU is up big late I could see FAU scoring points in garbage time to cover.

So to sum it up, I’m an OU fan and think it’s a solid play.

Yeah, I'm thinking OUs passing game is going to struggle early, which is all you need for a cover. I think FAU's offense will have some trickeration up their sleeves and surprise OU a bit at first before they settle in.

I think your assessment was right on.

FAU will strike early, get in a hole in the middle of the game, and score some points late.

As an OU fan, I think holding FAU under 20 points would be a success.

Our defense is very suspect. There are some new faces so maybe that’s a good thing? I mean they couldn’t be any worse than the guys last year. It sucked to have the best offense in th country dropping 48 on a great Georgia defense only to give up 54 and lose. OU will just flat out not line up correctly or run to the wrong gaps and let players run free without putting a hand on them. Mike Stoops needs to go. The game has passed him by.

So if FAU scores 20, which I think would be a GOOD performance by a Sooners defense that has question marks, that means OU will need to score over 40 to cover.

Odds are OU will be running the ball late.

I would bet that FAU scores between 20-24 points in this game.

Lane will find a way to keep FAU in this game. I think the new coordinators pick up right where they left off last year and the new QB should be a plus. The Defense is returning majority of their starters, but have not faced a team like OU. The extra time to prepare for this game should be the 1 thing that will keep them in it. I may sprinkle a little on the ML. Let's go FAU mighty fightin Kiffins

Even if FAU is down 24-28 points late, you know Kiffin will be used his timeouts and stopping the clock trying to score.

A lot of late money on FAU.

It just went from -21 to -19.

As an OU fan I’m a little uneasy about this game.

Wow, OU put a foot deep in that ass. I took a big beating on this almost as bad as Kiffin. I really didn't see OU's defense being that dominant. If they are legit and FAU just doesn't suck monkey nuts, look out. OU will be back in the playoffs with what I saw today.

He looked like a suntanned buffoon in the press conference. Looked like he didn't give 2 shits about the game as if he just got off a morning bender.

OU actually looked like a lot more “complete” team today than they did last year.

Last year they barely beat teams like Baylor and K-State because the defense was so bad.

The infusion of new talent gives me optimism.

OU looked damn good. Unless FAU just sucks or maybe holding the playbook back as they knew they weren't beating them?
