'Bama-Auburn. The Only Game That Matters?
I am talking about playoff possibilities. The winner of the Alabama-Auburn game have a leg up in the race for the four playoff spots. This should be the only close game. Let's look at the others:

Miami -13 @ Pitt. Does anyone see a potential problem here? Pitt did not even qualify for a bowl game.

Clemson -14 @ South Carolina. This one could get a bit dicey for Clemson, but they should prevail, if not cover. Who has South Carolina played? A Clemson loss eliminates them from the playoffs and they are well aware of that fact.

Oklahoma -22 1/2 vs West Virginia. West Virginia has lost their starting QB. Mayfield could sit this one out and OU would win. I do not see any problems here.

Wisconsin -17 @ Minnesota. This is the same Minnesota team that scored 10 points against both Iowa and Michigan and was shut out by Northwestern last week. How long does the scoreless streak continue?

Georgia -11 @ Georgia Tech. These two teams genuinely hate each other. A UGA win (they are 9-0 ATS in their last 9 in Atlanta) knocks Tech out of a bowl game. Georgia would love nothing more than to do that.

I believe that those are the only 7 teams with a legitimate chance of going to the playoffs. Sure crazy things can happen, but IMO, those things have a much better chance of happening next week in the Conference Championship games than this week.

You do realize if alabama miami oklahoma wins out the #4 spot is between ohio state and clemson. Being a clemson fan they will lose out :
Osu will be conference champ clemson will not.
Because the stupid ACC plays only 8 conference games the non d1 game hurts clemson.
Clemson lost to a non bowl team.
And forget the USC crap that conference is rated dead last the B1G is rated 1st with 5 top 25 teams and 3 top 10.

I agree. Could see tech or South Carolina making a close game like you said. If Ohio State blows out Michigan it could be impactful maybe, but I don’t think they deserve to be in the playoff discussion regardless

Miami fan here as evidenced by the Username. I actually disagree; I think if its a close game, a two loss Clemson gets in over Ohio St based on resume...the committee should factor in Clemson's loss to Syracuse was without Kelly Bryant and they have the most Top 50 wins in the entire country (should add to that total this weekend after South Carolina game.

No playoff team deserves to be in if they lose by 31 to freaking Iowa

Let's not forget UNDEFEATED Wisc. I'd say they would hold the #4 spot.

If Auburn beats Alabama then Georgia again, who is higher on the totem pole, 2 loss Auburn or 1 loss Alabama?

This is basically OSU and PSU last year and committee gave playoff spot to OSU. But this year, the consensus seems to be that Auburn would get in over Alabama in that situation. Why??

WRONG!!! Ohio State was a disgrase to the Committee last season. It is payback time. Wisconsin or ANY other 1 loss team gets in over Ohio State. Then they go to the Fiesta Bowl and get embarrassed by USC, just like most Big 10 teams get embarrassed by USC. USC is 8-1 in their last 9 Bowl Games against the Big 10. The Big 10 is NOT a good Conference. That is why they consistently take a crap in Bowl Games. 3-7 in 2016, 5-5 in 2015, 6-5 in 2014, 2-5 in 2013, 2-5 in 2012, 4-6 in 2011, 3-5 in 2010, 4-3 in 2009, 1-8 in 2008, and 3-5 in 2007. That is a 10 year total of 33-54. The WORST of all of the Power 5 conferences. A disgrace.

Not sure what your beef is with OSU.
They only beat Bama and blew out Oregon with their 3rd team QB to win the NC.
Then the next year they were clearly the 2nd best team and blew out ND in the Fiesta bowl.
Last year they got hammered by NC Clemson but we're in the game until 10 minutes left.
So they are 3-1 in the playoff era.
                    Are you a SEC jerk?
I do agree the B1G sucks come bowl time but the that does not include OSU.
If you think panzie USC will beat them you are dreaming.

USC OWNS the Big 10. Just ask Penn State. In 2008 and 2009, Ohio State had an overall record of 21-5. Two of those losses were at the hands of USC. USC simply has too much speed for Big 10 Schools. 10-1 in their last 11 games vs the Big 10. Don't worry about Clemson. They will NOT get past Miami. That being the case, the Alabama-Auburn game just takes on that much more importance. A 'Bama loss means that Miami will likely be the #1 team in the Playoffs. Alabama is in, no matter what they do against Auburn. If Auburn wins, but loses the SEC CC game to an 11-1 Georgia team, then Georgia is in. If I were a Big 10 fan, I would be rooting for Alabama, because if they lose, I can easily see 'Bama, Georgia, Miami, and OU in the playoffs if Wisconsin loses the Big 10 CC game. I can go on with 10 more possibilities, and Ohio State is in just one of them. IMO, the ONLY 1 loss team that can finish behind Ohio State is Wisconsin, if Ohio State defeats them in the Big 10 CC Game.
