They don’t want to spent more time for the act,,,,,they want to go home and rest...60 minutes game plus the time between is too long for them.

i think the call was ok......... USC was completely dominating Utah in the 2nd half. Utah did get the potential tying TD but it was a very desperate drive whereas USC was picking up 10+ yards on many of their rushing plays

better question is if williams could have seen carrington in end zone wide open. not that easy to do with his running for pylon though...

it always seemed weird to me when williams got the shotgun snaps. seemed to be a definite pause from him each time.

What a boneheaded play. Tie it and go to OT.

Utah could not stop USC in the 2nd half and knew it. They got a lucky score and went for the win. Nothing wrong with the call.

i think a better potential question is did they go away from moss running the ball too much in 2nd half..... he ran it incredibly well in 1st half and it would have eaten more clock... although it's arguable that 1) USC shut down Moss in 2nd half with adjustments 2) 13-0 midway through 3rd quarter is not "eat more clock" time yet.

Utah coach is thinking about how USC dominated the 2nd half, but if the game goes to OT it's a new ball game..score is 0-0... everything that happened earlier is irrelevant.

Do you ever see Nick Saban or Urban Myer go for the win with 2? No, they trust in their ability to coach for the extra period. Utah coach didn't trust himself to coach an extra session. How pathetic. If the games goes to OT all the pressure is on USC. Going for two put all the pressure on Utah.

When was the last time a power 5 team opted to go for the win instead of OT? Nobody this year except Utah. Teams don't do it because it's a stupid move.

Williams didn't do anything on the ground all night. Not sure what made him think he was gone out run USC defense. He should have been looking to pass the whole time. Dude wanted the glory. He put himself before the team.

Absolutely dead wrong! NOTHING is irrelevant. Utah's defense was gassed in the 2nd half and could not stop USC's ground attack. Where do you dream this caca up? Obviously you did not watch the game or you would have seen the obvious. Utah had just reclaimed momentum. They lose that momentum if they go for the tie. Are you trying to tell us that you know more about coaching than Kyle Whittingham? The only thing stupid is your post. Stop trying to be something that you are not. That is a knowledgeable football gambler.

Daddy is right. Utah would have lost in the first OT, they were spent on both sides and USC made the correct adjustments at Half. On the road? Go for the win.

i think for the moment, it was the best call he could have made.
