    UMass-Montana Div. 1AA semifinal
UMass +3.5 in this semifinal game because Montana has home field. UMass' only loss was a 1-point game to Navy (decent Division I Bowl team). Montanta also with impressive team. Like UMass here. ESPN2 at 7:30 p.m.

UMass won 1998 IAA title with with current Steelers quarterback coach Mark Whipple coaching.

I was just going to post this. I am leaning towards Umass +3.5 I think there the better team on both sides of the ball. Montana plays very well at home but I will take the points if Umass loses it will not be by more than 3.

My numbers make UMass a 5.5 point road favorite.

I think you're far from alone in that world, BBD. The line this morning keeps being brought back for Montana every time it drifts for UMass.

Nice call there. Mass had a 2:1 time of possession advantage.

Really well-played football game, and I gotta say I liked no replays, which I don't think they have in I-AA.

I was shocked UMass tried that 45-yard FG with 49 seconds left. The kick before from 44 to give them the lead might have been the ugliest FG kick that was successful I've ever seen. It barely got off the ground.

The late kick was partially blocked. Up 19-17, I would have tried to punt them inside the 20. Even to pick up 10-15 yards was key with them only needing a FG.

Interception on the next play sealed it anyways.

ESPN said the Montana QB played at Washington State and had decent numbers. Anyone know why he transferred?
