Nebraska fired A.D. Shawn Eichorst today, after 5 years. Two questions need to be answered. 1. Is Nebraska -12 1/2 a solid wager now. They host Rutgers on Saturday. 2. Is Mike Riley suddenly on the hot seat, a candidate for the A.D. spot, or neither.

No way Riley is a candidate for the AD spot. On the hot seat? Yes.... not sure he can save his job now. The new AD will want to make a hire I would guess. Riley needs 7+ wins and that's going to be difficult starting 1-2. Is Nebraska a solid wager? YES! I said that Monday.... Nebraska will roll. This helps.Comment -

Husker36 told me that Tommie Frazier is a candidate to replace Coach Riley. Tommie has collegiate head coaching experience and obviously holds a special place in the hearts of Husker Nation. Husker36 said it's a win-win situation because NU needs a coach and Tommie needs to get out of the house more.Comment -
If Eichorst really was the problem, then yes, Nebraska would have more value now.
But we don't know that yet, so it's still a pass for me.
I can say this, Nebraska outranked Wisconsin in recruiting 3 out of the last 4 years (and was really close that other year) according to 247 Sports, yet the results on the field have been a lot different.Comment
