    Rice Vs Stanford.....
Too many points? Does anyone have any insight on this game? I try not to put too much thought into first few games of the season, just curious.

Giving away 31 1/2 points can be a bit of a nervous call, so lets look at the facts. Rice returns their starting line on offense, and that is it. Their defense returns 7 starters, but was one of the worst in College Football last season. Their HC is on the hot seat. Stanford certainly is not going to risk any injury to QB Chryst, and may not even play him in the game. He is the biggest question mark on a team that has 16 starters returning. Add on the fact that the game is in Sydney Australia, and you have all kinds of unknowns. This is a pass game for me, but gun to head, I would go with the team that really needs wins or at least good showings to save the bosses job. I would take the points.

Why do these college teams decide to play in Australia ? Im not sure what the appeal is besides money for the school.Rice is awful team year in and out. Dont be scared to take stanford.

I'm not too sure either since both are private universities with lots of money already.

Rice was a perennial bowl team not that long ago. Shame to see them fall apart, I liked what coach Bailiff was doing and thought he should have gotten job offers at places like Houston and SMU. Maybe now we know why he didn't.

There's no strong angle to be had here. It's a degen-only play.

          agreed on everything i've read.....

rice was a nice little improvement story for quite awhile but has come off the rails really badly recently.

i have a somewhat unique betting theory on texas-based teams and it favours rice ...... and stanford isn't a team to blow other teams out.. lost mccaffrey and thomas, although bryce love did very well when given a chance... it all adds up to rice i think.

The only thing I see is Rice giving a little more to make Bailiff look good and save is job. Pass.
