Very impressive even in defeat. If they run the table they should still get in the playoff.

#3At this time the best odds favorites would have to be: BAMA, OSU, and Clemson to make the playoffs. I would put a 1-loss conference champ in over them (UL), but that's me. (PAC/B12 probably will each have 2-loss champs though). So yeah, either them, UM, or TAM. *TENN could not be a 1-loss non-champ w/o beating BAMA in the regular season and if they win the SEC outright, that would bump BAMA to the top of this list of 1-loss non-conference champs. This is pretty much all of the teams that have a real chance in to be line for a "1-loss non-champ" (assuming Big Red would lose the B1G Champ Game and only have a notable win over the ducks (who look quite average now) and Whisky/Iowa. *If Whisky wins out they would be the B1G champs and that would make the loser of the UM/OSU the highest 1-loss non-conference champ over UL for TV ratings....UL takes a seat even though UM would only have a notable win over Wisky, toss in some leftovers of (CU/Iowa/MSU), while UL would have notable wins over FSU and UH. Tenn notable wins would be UF/TAM/BAMA* toss in a UGA (*again if they lose the regular season game to BAMA the only way they get in would be to win the SEC outright and make BAMA the first choice for a 1-loss non-champ). UF still has a chance and would have notable wins over LSU and FSU. TAM notable wins would be TENN/UCLA/ARK/MISS/LSU with a respectable loss to BAMA. UL notable loss to CLEM on the road. Out of these teams I would have to pick TAM based on SoS (assuming they win out [I don't believe this happen though] and lose to BAMA close on the road). Not going to consider an undefeated BSU/AFA/WMU or a one-loss non-champ Maryland/UW/UTAH/ASU/UNC/MIA due to lack of OOC SoS unless '07 chaos erupts again. (Miami's 1-loss would be in the ACC champ game and UNC can't be a 1-loss non-champ, they would win outright in this scenario to make the playoffs). A 1-loss, non-champ Stanford notable wins with ND/KSU....might get in, but after the way they lost, it's over, pack your bags and get ready for the Holiday or Nobody Really Cares Bowl. TCU/OK already have 2 losses and Baylor or WVU could make it as a 1-loss, non-conference champs, but OOC quality wins are like Taylor Swift's chest size, flat as a board.Originally posted by BigDofBAVery impressive even in defeat. Assuming OSU, BAMA, CLEM run the table and the PAC/B12 champs end up with 2 losses, these are your 1-loss, non-conference champs most likely choices:
TAM
UL
UM
NEB
UF
PAC/B12 with a 1-loss non-conference champ options (statistically not likely to happen by seasons' end):
BAY
WVU
UW
STAN
CU
ASU
UTAH
*Disclaimer it's late or really early. Either way I'm sure I over-looked a team/scenario. BigD keeping it real as always. signing offComment
