Mendenhall went to a Power 5 Conference School when it became obvious that BYU was not serious about becoming one.

He's been looking to leave BYU for years. Sent a resume and cover letter to Alvarez at Wisconsin last year, it was released as part of a public records request. Google it and see. He's a terrible coach. He'll make Mike London look like Urban Meyer.
