As a general rule, do the offenses need a week to get their timing down,or is it the defense that usually needs a week to get their system down?

I am not a stat man. I do bet totals and I like looking for Unders early. Seems the offenses haven't got their timing, blocking assignments or reads down yet. The defenses that are coached properly have a few things to read and react. Defenses have the advantage early. They still have to have the talent to cover and tackle the opposition to compete. That's why you see the mismatches the first few weeks.
