QB Jeff Rowe practiced most of the week but was unable to take the ball against San Jose State because of a hamstring injury suffered two weeks ago against Hawaii.

"Jeff Rowe threw the ball all week and was looking good, but he just wasn't up to running our play system today," Nevada coach Chris Ault said. "It was killing Jeff. He would have really liked to play in his final homecoming game, but I was just not willing to risk the rest of the season. He should be ready to go against New Mexico State, but that decision will be made later in the week."

Moore is definitely not too much of a drop-off from Rowe...he played well in mop-up duty vs. ASU...played well in their comeback vs. Hawaii and he ran the offense well last week...plus if he doesn't get in at the beginning, he'll be hungry coming in off of the bench late...he'll want to move the football...

You didn't ask me but I already hit NIU pretty hard this week. Lot of running by both teams...conservative play calling by Ferentz with Manson or JC at QB will keep this thing low scoring. I saw an Iowa team that put it all on the line at Michigan...I got to believe there's going to be a bit of a letdown after that loss and then losing Tate to go with it.
