An Alternative Format to the Current NCAA Football Playoff

Shorten Season to 10 Games. Most teams play a couple gimmes anyways. This would make those wins irrelevant hopefully.

32 Team Playoff

Top 16 teams get a Bye through First Round.

Top 8 Teams Get a by through second round



Teams #32 - #17 would have to play quite a few games to get to finals though... 16 potentially. A true Gauntlet.

It would require the massive reorganization of Bowl Season. Probably not feasible. I think it is an interesting idea. It would be interesting to see how deep some of the mid major teams like Marshall and Boise could go.

Looking at the bracket, its really 30 power conference teams, and two mid majors. But it would definitely provide more opportunity to teams outside the 5 football power conferences.

But on the plus side, you could make a football bracket! That would be fun.

Ive thought this same way before. Bottom line this year isnt fixing anything whoever the 5th team is they are gonna be mad like being left out of March Madness. Also if the 4th seeded team wins it all people still wont feel like they are the best team, this 4team thing is worse than the two team thing they had.
