    FSU at NC State
NC State has been a thorn in FSU's side for years and years. They are tied with Clemson for most victories in the ACC vs FSU. In the past 18 games NC State is 14-3-1 ATS and 7-1 at home against the spread vs FSU. NC state has won 2 in a row, and 4 of 6 vs FSU at home. What's not to love?

NC State almost lost to Ga. So. at home and trailed ODU at home in the 3rd quarter. Since then NC State has beaten the formidable USF and Presbyterian. NC State hasn't won a conference game since November 2012. Dave Doeren has never won an ACC game at NC State. (Worth noting that none of the stats referenced above were with Doeren at the helm.)

FSU beat NC State by 32 in Tallahassee last year and should be out to show how good they are with Jameis back at the helm. Jameis also wants to atone for his missteps.

Looks like I'm in the minority, but I think FSU rolls here, notwithstanding the previous NC State success against them.

Big Nole fan. NCS always plays FSU tough. Wish I would have jumped on Wolfpack @ +23. +19 still looks juicy. FSU hasn't covered all year and this is first road game for Noles. Would love to see +21, not sure if it will move back up.

Ex Gator QB Jacoby Brissett hasn't looked bad with 10 Touch down passes and only one pick. He will be tested with FSU pass rush.

I normally back NC State at home versus FSU but they are so erratic, I'm not sure they can compete. Old Dominion and Ga Southern are not bad teams. Those are solid victories but I think FSU won't take NC State for granted in this spot.

Now the game I have circled is the Virginia game. I could easily see FSU falling asleep for that game and have a dog fight even at home.

This game was 35-0 after the first quarter last year, before FSU eased up. I think this is the game FSU explodes w Jameis back in. #2 WR Bobo Wilson was out against Ok St, and the defense showed signs of putting it together last week. Remember, the original line vs Clemson was FSU -20 before the Jameis saga. I think the line of this one should have been more like 24-27, so I expect FSU to cover and I'm on them big. Just my opinion.

Brissett does look good. The Pack hasn't faced a defense anywhere near what they will face vs FSU's but the Noles lost a starter on the line for the year, I think? Still, Brissett and the rushing game for State have done exactly what they should have done. It's a 3 headed committee that each avg over 6.5 yds per carry. That ain't happening vs the Noles but it will be a challenge. State will score points in this game. I can see 20-24 being put up. The problem for them is how many they give up. If JW comes out with a point to prove then FSU can hang 50 on NC State. If the crowd, it gets real loud at CF, effects him and or he is distracted by the off field issues it will get very interesting.

Pivot is right, in that this game in Raleigh bucks all the odds of probability. Carter-Finley has been a problem for FSU since 1998. USF isn't a great team by any means but NC State could have beaten them by 60 on the road a few weeks back if they didn't call the dogs off mid way thru the 3rd.

Conventional wisdom says take the points. Obviously NC St's biggest game of the year. However, I also think Florida State will be anxious to whoop some ass here. A loss to Clemson last week would have completely burst their bubble, but with them winning, and the way it happened, I think it pulls them together. Lots of emotion spent on that game, but w/ Winston back under center, it could rejuvenate them. Gotta remember these are still mostly 20 year old kids.

It's tough to call because Winston has the talent to help Noles blow this one open, but now with this Title IX investigation being brought up, even though it's Winston's lawyer handling everything, you have to think it still weighs on his mind (especially for such an immature kid). I made the mistake of taking FSU in '12, thinking their talent was too much for NC st to overcome. I'm not taking the bait this time. It's a no-bet for me, but I still like FSU to really wipe the floor with the Pack. Emotion from the home team and questionable mental state of Winston have me staying away.

NC State will give FSU all they can handle and then some.

Take the points even if u only get +17.5

I'd like to think State has a shot at keeping it close but our weakest point is our defense. FSU could simply run the ball only and score on 65% of their possessions against the Pack. I think you will see a blow out. State could score 21-24 points. But FSU could score 40 by half time if they choose. Final score as I see it FSU 48 NCSU 24

FSU didn't look all that hot against Okla State and The Citadel when they had Winston. This isn't the same FSU team from last year. There are holes...some big ones. I think FSU wins this game, but 20+ points is a lot to ask on the road against a team they've struggled against in Raleigh in the past and who are halfway decent this year.

Yeah. I get where folks are coming from. My post was primarily directed at the OP's "what's not to love" question. That said, I think this is a bad spot for NC State, and I don't expect their history against FSU to be of any relevance on Saturday.

But I've been wrong about games before and I'll be wrong again. FWIW, I have FSU -19.

You people on State realize they went 0-8 in the ACC last year and have barely beat some of the cupcakes they stack their non-conference schedule with?

State has traditionally played FSU tough. Problem with that analysis is, this is the straight up absolute worst team NC State has ever had, and one of the best teams FSU has ever had. Take that into account too.

This NC State team is much better than last seasons team. Brissett is leaps and bounds better than what they had last season and the 3 headed attack at RB looks great. The offense will score points. FSU isn't what they were last season. They may still be the best team in the nation but last season they were toying with teams.
