    #2
    Duke @ Troy (Week 2)

    -Duke
    -Offense
    -No huddle, spread offense.
-QB Boone is experienced (JR) but still makes poor decisions, even when not pressured. One read. WR's seem to have some athleticism against a lesser D but Boone still lacks the accuracy to get the ball to them with any consistency.
-QB Boone tucks and runs with pressure. Will NOT stand in the pocket with eyes down field and make the throw.
-Struggling to get the run going.
-Success throwing to the sideline. Lots of screens/flats/out routes. Short throws.
    -Rarely throw the ball deep.
    -Defense
-4 man rush. Aren't getting pressure on QB despite the athletic advantage of playing against a Sun Belt team. WIll not have any success against better O-Lines and this will hurt them big come conference play.
-Really struggle against uptempo, no-huddle offense.
-Solid rush D up the middle.
-Struggling getting to the ball on the outisdes. Giving up big chunks on permiter running plays. This is making them very vulnerable to Read-Option plays that bounce out.
-Corners are with their receivers but seem to lack the awareness to disrupt plays.
-Pass D is weak against this type of spread offense.
-Defense just is NOT coming up with stops, especially in short yardage situations.

    Troy
    -Offense
-QB Silvers is a Redshirt Freshman. Accurate. Displays accuracy and good decision making downfield. Is going to put up a ton of yards whenever he has time.
-O-Line does a great job of providing their young QB with time.
-Pass game is quick screen/swing passes. Short passes.
-Offense is uptempo, no huddle. Get up the field quickly.
-Lot of plays to the perimeter.
-O-Line doing a good job in the ground game to the outside. Not a great job up the middle.
-Great gains on the ground when running to the outside.
-Good playcalling is keeping the D guessing.
    -Defense
-DB's play up on receivers. Zone Coverage.
-Good pursuit in the Rush D.
-Zone pass coverage seems to struggle against the outside throws.
-Pass D has a lot of holes and will get picked apart by any good QB with time.
-Don't really bring a pass rush.

      #3
      Louisiana Tech @ UL-Lafayette (Week 2)

      Louisana Tech
      -Offense
-Good pass protection from the O-Line.
-QB Sokol does a good job of finding the open man. Really progresses through his reads. Helps that he gets a lot of time in the pocket. Accurate QB with good composure.
      -Like to run No-Huddle.

      -Defense
      -Very experienced D-Line/LB's. Only JR's and SR's.
-Lot of zone pass coverage. Leaves them vulnerable to a QB who can find the holes.
-Giving up good chunks on the ground.
-DB's sag off about 10 yards. Seem vulnerable to the bubble screen.
-Good job of converging on the ball when pass is dumped off in the flats.

      UL-Lafayette
      -Offense
-Pistol offense. Mobile QB. One read. Will tuck and run with pressure. If you can get pressure on him, he won't beat you with the pass. Struggles with accuracy.
-Fast paced offense. Like to run the ball. Favoring the right side.
-O-Line does a nice job in pass protecting when defense doesn't bring blitz.
-Pass plays consist of mostly shallow to mid-range passes. Don't go deep. Like to release their guys into the flats while drawing the d to the center of the field.

      -Defense
      -3 down lineman.
-Man D from the corners who play up on the WR's. Will probably get burned by more athletic offenses.
-Corners do a solid job in man coverage. Struggle in zone.
-Poor pass coverage from the LB's.
-D-Line doesn't get off of blocks to get to the QB. No pass rush.
-Good pursuit to stop the rush attack. Can get in the backfield to disrupt the ground game.
      -Good D to the right.

        #4
        Missouri @ Toledo (Week 2)

        Missouri
        -Offense
-Spread Offense. Same offense from the last few years.
-Great pass protection from the O-Line.
-QB Mauck only makes one read. Not a very strong arm. Underthrows the deep ball. Pressure + Smart Defense will result in turnovers.
-QB Mauck doesn't check down or progress through reads. Throws into coverage even with time in the pocket.
-Pass game is effective only because of the time the QB has. They really move the ball against a bad Toledo defense by making the designed throws.
-WR's outclass the DB's of Toledo. Wheter over the middle or in the flats, they just have too much athleticism for the defense.
-QB Mauck will look good against bad pass defenses when he has time.

        -Defense
        -Good closing speed.
        -Corners play off of WR's.
-D-Line brings a strong pass rush. Granted it's against Toledo. DE's have a lot of speed and allow for a 4 man rush to get pressure.
-Doing a good job of swallowing up the run.
-Seem to struggle against screen passes.
-DB's don't make plays on the ball.

        Toledo

        -Offense
-Spread offense. Lots of screens and curls.
-QB Ely is one read. Locks on to primary. Will fold with pressure. Inaccurate. Even with short passes.
-O-Line is really struggling against the SEC D-Line. Struggle even against a 4-man rush. Maybe with time they could move the ball more effectively but it'll most likely be nickle and dime pass plays.
-Running back has good vision and patience. Shows potential for big playmaking ability against equal/lesser caliber defenses.

        -Defense
        -Lax pass coverage.
-D doesn't really bring the blitz. But when they do, they have more success getting to the QB.
-D-Line isn't going to get any pressure on the QB with a 4 run man rush.
-DB's really play off of WR's even though Missouri has been WR Screen/Flat heavy.
-Pass defense gets picked apart when they can't get pressure on the QB. They don't stop any pass plays. Almost all incompletions are the fault of the offense.
-Good spread teams will have a field day against this pass D.
-Poor man coverage deep. Will get beat by good WR's/Offenses.

          #5
Pittsburgh @ Boston College (Week 2)

          Pittsburgh
          -Offense
-QB is mobile. Not the fastest but elusive. Doesn't fare well under pressure. Doesn't have a good arm. Isn't a guy who is going to win the game for you through the air. Inaccurate. Likes to lock onto go-to WR Boyd. Continues to happen throughout the game. It's even responsible for an INT.
-QB Voitek is young and inexperienced. Won't take a shot deep. Is ineffective when he does. Not accurate.
-Slow paced offense. Play clock gets down to about 12 seconds on most snaps.
-Pro-Style. Lot of snaps from under center.
-Definitely more successful running the ball. Passing game will rely on ability to run.
-O-line does a good job on blocking out their guys.
-Run game favoring the right. Most run plays consist of Lineman pulling.
-Will beat teams who give up alot on the ground.
-Connor (RB) is a strong down hill runner. Not a lot of speed but good ball security and good vision.
-Tyler Boyd (WR) is a "go up and get it receiver".

          -Defense
-Struggle against the Read-Option. Don't have the speed to catch players who get past the
          -Good pass rush.
-Getting bullied in the ground game. Can't get to the ball, can't get off of blocks.
-Vulnearble up the center and to the left.

          Boston College
          -Offense
-Very different offense than previous BC teams.
-Tyler Murphy (QB) very athletic. Rushed for 100+ yds in week 1. Transfer from Florida. Seems to struggle with accuracy.
-Lot of Read-Option plays out of the pistol offense. QB Murhpy has the speed to make a defense pay.
-Good run game. O-Line really gets out on their blocks and do a great job of sealing their guys.
-Ground game favors running up the center or the left. Runs between the tackles.
          -Experienced O-line with 5 graduates.

          -Defense
-Aggressive D. Lot of missed tackles. Looks like they'll bite on fakes and struggle against the PA against an effective run team.
-Good pass rush. Like to blitz on 3rd.
-D-Line has trouble getting off of blocks to stop run.
-Defense knows the Offense is going to run the ball but still can't stop it. This going to be a big problem against good run teams.

            #6
Virginia Tech @ Ohio State (Week 2)

            Virginia Tech
            -Offense
-QB Brewer doesn't have good composure in the pocket. Poor decision making. Locks onto receivers. Doesn't see the whole field. Under throws the deep ball.
-Conservative pass game. Quick hitting passes.
-O-Line is doing a solid job in pass protection against a very good defensive front.
-Can't get anything going on the ground up the middle.
-Like to run the ball with reverse plays and have more success with perimeter running plays.

            -Defense
-Man Pass coverage on almost every play. DB's play up on their men. Really good man coverage from just about all of the corners.
-Crowd the box, bring up the SS into the box. Keep FS deep as a security blanket. Are going to force JT Barrett to beat them deep.
-Lot of speed on defense. Great job of getting to the ball in the ground game and in the pass game.
-Athletic corners who are often on an island because the safeties are playing up near the box.
-Very disciplined. Guys stay at home on option plays.

            Ohio State
            -Offense
-O-Line is giving QB Barrett a great pocket a good amount of time. Lineman seal their blocks and they are competing against a very athletic VT D-Line.
-Strong run blocking to the left.
            -Run first offense. Option heavy.
-QB Barrett makes smart throws. Actually makes reads. Very athletic. Not the best arm. Lacks accuracy at times but doesn't make bad decisions. Will put up huge numbers against poor pass defenses.

            -Defense
-Good pursuit from the defense. Do a great job of getting off of the blocks.
-Man coverage. Aggressive defense. Would be vulnerable against mobile QB's who can beat you through the air, and who run a lot of read-options or PA read-options.
-Despite not giving up more yards through the air, it's more a result of poor throws or poor hands. They definitely give up yards through the air and will be exposed when playing teams who can give good QB's time in the pocket. They rely more on the pass rush than they do on good coverage.
-Good pass rush from down lineman.
            -Lot of 4-3/nickel packages
-Defense is just swallowing up the run up the middle.
