You are only a failure when You give up. W.B. Very famous quote in daytrading and forex trading world. Never-the-less, You should always only bet 1%-3% per game of br. I really only feel comfortable at 1.5% or less. Then grind it out. You can bounce back. Tail Pinny, sonny, vegasreaper, achilles, to name a few for a while and never tilt. 40% is enough to start over...

Parlay Louisville and Northern Illinois ML and thank me later. Louisville not playing as good as Cincy but Bridgewater going out on top these last couple of games.

The funny thing is even if he won, it would be given back. Most degen gamblers have to bet every game, even if the line is tight. And they have poor money management. Bet within your means. Winning $20 and $200 or $2000 is still winning.

so... you are such a successful sports bettor that you have been able to "fool" your friends and family into believing you are a day trader - presumably for years, all the while reaping windfall after windfall - able to support yourself (and whoever else you might support), pay for your dwelling, food, clothes, gas, car payments, leisure activities, insurance, etc etc etc..... and all because of one day where you lost 60% of your roll on some 7-team teasers....?

If you've been doing this long enough (which I doubt you have) you would know everyone has some bad beats. Whining about getting goosed on a 7-penetrating-team-teaser is NOT a bad beat, it's actually quite the norm and you are stacking the odds with every team you add to said teaser - act like you've been there before, shooter.

The sky isn't falling, no1 is excluded from variance, there is no such thing as a "sure bet", suck it up, buttercup.

I didnt say I've been doing this for years. In fact, this is the first year that I decided to go "pro." But yeah I have done "recreational" sports betting for a couple years before this. That parlay (Almost ALL heavy money line favorites) was just one example....of several bets that I made. Most of which were STRAIGHT bets ATS. I ran a roll of $5,000 up to $42,000 from August to October..... So yeah I did have enough money to cover rent, food, gas, insurance ...and I even bought a used car. This last month I gave over $10K back. On Saturday I lost 60% of my remaining roll ....and yesterday I lost about $4,000 betting live on New Orleans +26.5, +23.5, +21.5. Unless you know what's it's like to lose 5 figures in a day.... I would suggest you keep ur opinions to yourself

Urb, I agree with you. And you are one of the few pros in here that I respect. It’s been a crazy downswing for me the last month. I thought SBR was a medium where professionals and amateurs alike could collaborate and discuss various aspects of sports betting (including the ups and downs) in an open and receptive manner. It seems that this place has become a place where petty insults and digs at one another is the norm. I come out and make a prediction about a game and will get 30 replies of why I am wrong…and then if it turns out my analysis is spot-on ….not a single reply. If my prediction is wrong, then I’ll get bombarded with countless “I told you” after the game is over. I met some of the coolest and chill people on here … some that know about my situation…my roll…and my bets….. and we collaborate, but damn I swear I have never met so many douchebags on here either.

What would you really expect coming in here whining about a loss when you bet multi-parlay bets. Pretty much it seems you are a bookies best friend.

You made the thread asking for opinions on your situation - I gave my advice.... Don't want opinions, don't make threads.

P.S - guys, you are only allowed to post in here if you've lost over 10k in one day.

I'm not the fool, he is. If his story is true, then he should get some help and turn his attention to his family. If his story is true, continuing on gambling is going to do more harm than good. He has to ask himself if his family is more important than continuing his facade. If he loses his family, he will end up becoming a lonely middle aged man seaking solace in Mexican hookers.
