I placed a live-bet during the Oregon vs Oregon state game earlier today on the 5th drive of the game by Oregon State. There were 3 options during the live bet on the 5th drive: Punt, Offense Score (TD/FG) or Other outcome.

I wagered punt, which is what Oregon State did but the PR fumbled the ball and Oregon State recovered the football. Usually the sports book grades it within 10 seconds after the result of the action has been completed. But this one took almost a half hour until it was graded and when it did, it was graded as a loss.

I contacted my sportsbook immediately regarding this issue and nothing in the rule book says that it should have been a loss. The 3 options mentioned above states nothing about the PR losing the football would count, I'm assuming since they wagered it a loss, as "other outcome" but when indeed Oregon State PUNTED the ball.

I am still awaiting word back from my sportsbook management and see if they will reverse the results, which I highly doubt since I cashed 2 checks for 1500 already in 2 weeks, or at the very least, they should rule it 'No Action' and refund my wager amount back.

What do you guys think? If anyone can locate the Las Vegas official live-bet rule book, that would be greatly appreciated!

dude official rules count this as "other". It was not a punt because it was recovered by kicking team. You lost and will not receive any $ whomever bet on "other" got paid +XXX because of how rare it is

It should not have counted as "other" because as soon as they set up to punt the ball, all bets are frozen and you can't wager on anything. This is consistent on how they manage live-bets. Anything goes on 1st, 2nd and 3rd downs but upon completion of the 3rd down play, all live-bets are temporarily on hold. The "Other Outcome" should only be counted under the following circumstances: while the offense still has possession of the ball either loses a fumble, throws an interception or turns the ball over on downs.

The only reason it would count as other is if they called a timeout and decided to go for it on fourth down or ran a fake play and lose it on downs, INT or fumble while on offense. I don't get how they punted but say it wasn't a punt it. The ball left his foot and the only thing I call that is a punt.

I am inclined to think your wager should be graded a win because their was in fact a punt. Always seems that when situations like this arise it almost always goes against the player though.

I'm gonna keep fighting with the book if they decide to officially rule it as "other outcome" after they finish reviewing this wager. A punt is a punt. I understand if the punter muffs the snap and didn't kick it or the hiker sailed over his head. I would let it go if it was a small wager but it was 110.

no u r wrong.... a punt by definition MUST result in a 1st down for the opposing team....anything else is not an actual punt. "other" is anything outside the official outcomes of score or punt.... u lost
