So I can count about 10 different times NIU tried to give this game away tonight or got screwed.

3 Field Goal Misses
Beneficiary of 3 turnovers in the first half and still was down 10-7 at halftime
3rd and 1 and you throw a backwards pass and don't convert
obvious fumble recovery and they don't even review it????

How's that "field position game" working out for Toledo punting from NIU's 40? I mean on one hand I'm glad cuz I have NIU, but this hasn't exactly been a game of defense so that decision is retarded regardless of down and distance.

FG kicker must be rattled, but getting a chance to kick xtra points helped. He's actually been pretty solid this season.

Almost like you never want to put a cold shooter on the line in hoops. Lets him get his feel, range back + confidence.

Kicking makes guys into headcases. Any other position you make a mistake and can typically come right back out and get in the swing of things.

For a kicker it's like oh thanks asshole we just got nothing out of the drive. BTW you won't get another chance until we desperately need points again.
