Hey guys, I hardly ever post my plays on here (had an MLB thread across the street that made some decent coin), and I won't talk about being amazing at capping college football or anything crazy. Long story short, I'm a Georgia alum, watch and know the SEC better than any other conference, and make more $ from this conference every year than the others. Obviously I'm a huge Dawg fan, so you can take this lightly and go to others for advice and discussion for this game.
There are so many different angles you can take for this game, and I will briefly discuss a few of them. First of all, disregard the fact that this is a home game for Auburn. We played them at Auburn last year, and because of crazy SEC scheduling we're at the Plains again. Don't be fooled-the away team has a better record in this series, and besides that Auburn is only 3 hours from Athens, and with this game being the oldest rivalry in the South our fans always show up.
injuries you say? Yes some of our better players are still out, but we have Todd Gurley, and even if he isn't 100%, he gives Georgia that second dimension on offense, which will allow Aaron Murray to open up the passing game with play action and keep that secondary of Auburn's (by far the weakest part of Auburn's team) honest. Yes Auburn's defense is good and had been improving as the season has progressed, but the Dawgs will score points on that defense.
The most important thing to remember is that this is the South's oldest rivalry, where fans from both teams show up no matter what their teams' records are. This rivalry is right behind Auburn/Bama and Georgia/Florida as far as significance, and I love the fact that we are 6-3 and Auburn only has one loss. Say what they want, Auburn is definitely looking ahead to the Iron Bowl against Bama in a couple weeks, and though they will try to take this game as seriously, this is nothing compared to that game. And don't think that Georgia isn't excited about having the opportunity to ruin Auburn's season and their chances at making the SEC Championship game.
To make it better I'll be at the game with my wife and her family, and they are all huge Auburn fans, so once again I'll be the only one in red and black at the tailgate! FWIW even my wife says she thinks it'll be a very close game. Anyway, I recommend a wager on the Dawgs today:
GEORGIA +3 (+100)
GEORGIA ML +143
Don't over think it guys, take the Dawgs and the points here. If it makes you feel better feel free to buy the hook, or bet the Over as it will most likely be a shootout. Good luck to those who tail!
