Started the week 2-0 in CFB with victory picks on the Bearcats over Memphis and Trojans all over Oregon State. FoLr Saturday, since Im on the east coast right now it's only right I started the day's card off with some early-day ACC selections as that's what I've been seeing alot of lately.
My strongest pick of the noon games is absolutely Virginia Tech covering over BC. Last week in their loss, they further solidified the Hokies' spot as the #1 defense in the nation. The Hokies were playing without 2 starters on defese: DE J.R. Collins, and field corner B. Facyson who leads the ACC in interceptions as a true-freshman. This week, expect the Hokies to play an extra defensive end instead of the Whip Linebacker position, as they did vs. Georgia Tech when they shutdown the yellowjackets rushing attack.
The Syracuse pick was hard for me, and I see alot on this board going for the Demon Deacons and rightfully so the way Tanner Price is playing for them at QB. However, I think the Orange will control the time of possession in their home Dome keeping Price and the Deacons offense off the field. As for the Clemson pick, it was a no-brainer. The Tigers are one of the most explosive attacks in the nation, and while the loss to FSU proved they were'nt quite as explosive as the Seminoles, it's important to note the FSU defense is STUD-loaded with the likes of Brandon Joyner who is one of the most impressive defensive backs to play for FSU since Rolle.
The Heels are now employing a 2-quarterback attack combining Renner's accuracy and management with the athletic ability and cannon arm of Marquise Williams, a sophomore, who is the future at QB for North Carolina. I actually think Williams gives the Heels the better chance to win, and like the other dimension that his play adds.
I will be adding more picks this afternoon and for the night games. I know most of the selections I will make but some depend on how the early picks go.
