Iowa vs. Syracuse
Syracuse is 6-9-1 SU but 11-5 ATS vs the Big 10 at home. Syracuse is 9-15 ATS in home openers and while its crowds have been shrinking, Iowa figures to travel well here and is 7-3-1 ATS on art turf.
Iowa is a good bully with an outstanding 17-2 ATS mark as a DD fav.
Syr is in the 2nd year of their switch from run offense to the West Coast and we only rate them #107 to Iowa’s #34. LW SU lost to WF 20-10 only managing 136 yds (QB Patterson hit 5-18 for 45 yds) while allowing 245 yds on the ground.
Iowa rolled over IAA Montana 41-7 with 22-11 FD & 416-144 yd edges. Iowa has large edges on the offensive and defensive lines and also has QB Tate (PS#18) and RB Young (PS#14).
Syr has just 4 starters back on a D that we rate #72 vs Iowa’s #30 and Iowa also has a large edge on ST’s (#7-70). We are well aware Iowa does have rival Cyclones on deck, who embarrassed them 23-3 LY with Iowa as a 9 pt fav.
