#2Of course non of these teams make their schedules but they have to play them. Bama's toughest games are against Vols, LSU and Auburn. Oregons are UCLA, Stanford and Washington as well as tenn. FSU has Miami, Florida and Clemson. So, all of their schedules are not really stong, I mean FSU played Bethune Cookman, Bama played Georgia State and Oregon played Nicholls State so they all have had their creampuffs but it is what it is. That question can't be answered until they play their two toughest opponents. Just looking at the teams, my answer to the question is no they are not. Alabama is still the best team in the country. They all have good defenses, although FSU's is more than likely the best but Bama has the best offense of the group. I'll take the good passing and running offense every time. Bama is best.Comment -

#3Taken directly from the article
"The Noles have played the toughest schedule to date, a big reason why they rank No. 1 in the computer component in the BCS standings. Florida State also is the only team to have played two ranked teams at the time of their matchup -- No. 25 Maryland and No. 3 Clemson. Combined score in those two games? 114-14. The 63-0 win over Maryland tied the record for the largest margin of victory over an AP ranked opponent. The combined win-loss record of their five FBS opponents to date: 21-12. Florida State has played only one team with a losing record.
Let us take a look at Alabama. The combined win-loss record for the Tide's seven FBS opponents: 22-27. They have played four teams with losing records. Now Oregon. The combined win-loss record for its six FBS opponents: 18-24. The Ducks have played two opponents with losing records. Alabama and Oregon each have wins over teams with one total victory on the season. Florida State's worst opponent to date -- Nevada at 3-4.
3. Among the three teams, Florida State owns the best margin of victory. The Noles are beating their opponents by an average of 40.9 points per game. Oregon is beating its opponents by an average of 40.3 points per game; Alabama is beating teams by an average of 31 points per game. When you consider the strength of schedule to date, this stat makes Florida State look even more impressive. "Comment -

#5LOL! Boy, stats can really be twisted into anything you want them to say. Lets get some real meaningful stats like, how about some red zone stats, turnover ratio, average penalties per game, best offensive line, average rush per carry, QB rating and so on. I guess the only way we will know for sure is if they play each other.Comment -

#6FSU has top redzone conversion rate in the country. (score 97% of the time. TD 75% of the time) +7 in takeaways. Our top 3 rushers (we use a 3 back system) are averaging a combined 6.5 YPC. Winston has 71 Pct Completion/20 td/3 INT (Second nationally in QBR)
Alabama 53rd in the country Red Zone efficiency- Score 85% of the time/TD 70% of the time, +4 in takeaways. Bamas top 2 rushers (I use 2 because their 2 have more carries than FSU's 3) 7.1 YPC. Mccaron 69% completion pct/14 td/3 INTComment -

#9FSU is not the best team in the country, but they look pretty good. Alabama is, and will probably make the national championship game, barring a meltdown against a wild Vols team. Nick Saban is in a league of his own and is a psychopath. If you can't realize that, you should watch more football.
Alabama isn't the prettiest or the flashiest or put up the best stats, but they are a well oiled machine run by an insane person who eats two oatmeal creampies for breakfast everyday. I hope they get beat by Oregon in the national championship.
The two best conferences right now are the SEC the Pac 12 and then the ACC. People always complain that teams like Tennessee or Ole Miss beat some of the better teams so thats why the SEC isn't the best, which is exactly the reason it's the best. The mid tier teams are better than a lot of the other mid tier teams in other conferences.
They usually start off slow, but by mid season they either show that they're pretty good, or they have a complete meltdown.
The current ranking system is fuckedup anyways, teams shouldn't be ranked until mid-season anyways. USC being pre-season number 1 over Alabama last year was a joke.Comment -

#11I think Fla. State is better than Oregon. Winston is now the favorite for the Heisman at Betonline & tied with Marrioata at Sportsbook.
Very Complete team.Comment
