Great bet does not have a lot of exposure: Utah St -10 at New Mexico
Utah St has been a good team with solid offense and good defense. TY they struggled against tough competitions: Utah/USC/BYU/Boise, and sit at 3-4 record. To assure a bowl game invitation, USU will need at least to win 4 of their next 5 games and it starts this week at NM.
New Mexico is a team win games with Defense and Running game. Coming in 2013, they lost about half of their key defensive contributors, and it showed on the field: allowing more than 6 yards per carry (5.3 ypc last year) and ranked #116 in total defense allowing 479 ypg. Their offense production is 78% rushing and 22% passing with nearly 350 rushing yards per game. Their passing attack is not only limited but awful, completing only 45% for 93 yards per game.
Utah St run defense is their strength, allowing only 129 ypg and 3.1 ypc. Their offense is balanced though will be relied more on running attack after QB Keeton went down against BYU. This year their rushing attack averaged a healthy 4.7 ypc for 190 ypg. Keep in mind that this stat is against great competition, much above that of NM.
After 2 straight losses, the Aggies will be focused and motivated this week. They should be able to dominate in the trenches and get some huge plays against the Lobos' porous defense.
Utah State in a big win here.

    BOL to everyone here.

Would not have struggled as much against BYU had Chuckie not gotten hurt. Lost a bit of coin on that one.

Agreed. They were on par with both BYU and Boise St but lost C Keeton.

Yep but with Chuckie the line would be at least 2 TD. I think there is good value here.

If I were to play this game, I would take New Mexico and the points. New Mexico has been playing much better as of late, and I would not trust Utah State without Keaton at QB. In fact I just went back and looked at this game, and I am going to take New Mexico +10.

Good luck with your pick Urban.... but I stay with USU. I have trust on their defense. BOL

No doubt losing him hurt, but it's worth pointing out that the BYU game was looking terrible for USU before he got hurt

Thanks everyone. Had a decent week. This pick was a good one 45-10 Utah St.
