    help settle an idiotic argument
i'll skip the long explanation and boil it down. i felt like i had a good read on the penn st/mich game. i had mich---but i'm a huge psu fan. as i'm watching the game my wife is insistent that i should have never made the bet because now i have to root against my team. i said "i'm still rooting for psu but i thought the reality would be that we would lose,so i made the bet"--should i have made the bet or not? my wife says "if you're gonna be routing for penn st ,you should have never made the bet because you're basically hoping you lose your money" (she's sitting here and made me add that)

tell her you win either way, money or happiness. ...... i've done it a few times myself. i seem to win the bets more than the games.

should've bet another game, but that's hindsight. Tough lesson to learn when you do that, especially if your team wins.

Of course you are never going to root to lose money. Who is kidding who?

You can always take comfort in the fact 98% of the time your wife was "watching" the game she was dreaming of big black dck.

I never bet on the game, geesh, those last few minutes and overtime must been a heap load of rollercoaster emotions. And then there's dealing with the wife. ouch.
