    SJSU +26.5 @ stanford??
is sjsu's possible first NFL QB taken injured?.... seems like a great number.

stanford while being an absolute ATS machine the last few years is pretty much 50% ATS as home favourite. machine-like ATS domination on every other category though.

    thanks in advance!!

Posted this earlier this morning, I feel this is way off. Stanford is way too loved, Im not buying it. Also SJSU beat Sac St 24-0, which obviously doesn't look good but you got to think they will show up for this one as they are just too good not to. Teased to +33 and +26 for the week's best pick.

I was expecting Stanford -14 to -17 and looking forward to betting on SJSU this season, but I'm starting to get worried they may disappoint after losing head coach Mike MacIntyre to Colorado.

      Offensive starters returning: 7
      Offensive starters lost: 4

      Defensive starters returning
      : 6
      Defensive starters lost: 5

Key losses: S Cullen Newsome, S James Orth, DE Travis Johnson, RB De’Leon Eskridge, TE Ryan Otten, OT David Quessenberry

Top returnees: QB David Fales, WR Noel Grigsby, LB Keith Smith, WR Jabari Carr, WR Chandler Jones, LB Keith Smith, LB Vince Buhagiar, CB Bené Benwikere, K Austin Lopez

Weaknesses: Coming off such a strong season, one of the major challenges will be offsetting the loss of 11 starters. The defense loses key members of the secondary in safeties Cullen Newsome and James Orth. San Jose State lacked balance offensively during the 2012 season. The team ranked No. 106 nationally during the 2012 season, averaging 133.5 yards per game.

SJSU RB Tyler Ervin is questionable ("left after two carries...seen on crutches afterwards").

SJSU defense stats look a little concerning vs. Sac St:

      1st Downs 18 15
      Total Yards 278 367
      Passing 192 225
      Rushing 86 142
      Penalties 8-45 3-20
      3rd Down Conversions 8-21 7-16
      4th Down Conversions 2-4 1-2
      Turnovers 2 0
      Possession 36:08 23:52

And for Stanford, David Shaw (23-4) continues.

      Offensive starters returning: 6
      Offensive starters lost: 5

      Defensive starters returning: 7
      Defensive starters lost: 4

Key losses: RB Stepfan Taylor, WR Drew Terrell, WR Jamal-Rashad Patterson, TE Levine Toilolo, DT Terrence Stephens, LB Chase Thomas, CB Terrence Brown, CB Alex Carter

Top returnees: QB Kevin Hogan, FB Ryan Hewitt, DE Ben Gardner, DT Henry Anderson, LB Shayne Skov, LB Trent Murphy, SS Ed Reynolds

Weaknesses: Stepfan Taylor left Stanford as the school’s all-time leading rusher, forcing Shaw to turn to Tyler Gaffney and Anthony Wilkerson as the primary running backs. Gaffney returns to the team after taking all of 2012 off to pursue a minor league baseball career. Another possible name to watch is one that football fans will find quite familiar. Barry Sanders, the son of former Oklahoma State and Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders, will look to make a name for himself as a freshman for the Cardinal. …. Stanford starts the 2013 season with lots of inexperience at wide receiver thanks to graduation. Junior Ty Montgomery (26 catches/213 yards) has the most experience of anyone in the group.

O/U at 48.5. Probably avoid this game.
