I like how people are posting their picks for each week. I started betting on sports last year and for college football I did really great. Got about 70% of my picks correct, maybe a bit more. Quadrupled my money (basketball wasn't as nice to me). I want to keep track of my picks, and would like some input too. So these are all just my opinion, I bet about $50 per game, depending on if I think it's a lock or not. So if you have any questions or comments, please let me know, here are my week 1 picks:
Utah State +2.5 - 3 Units - I live in Utah, and know how bad of a team Utah is. On the other hand, Utah State has a great QB returning, and Utah doesn't really have much going for them. I see this game being a great one to watch, and with Utah State being an underdog it's a no brainer. The only thing that worries me is that Utah is playing at home, and could miraculously pull something out of their shirt; however, with the experience Utah St has, and the track record, I see this one being one of the better locks of the week.
BYU -1 - 3 Units - Again, I am from the Utah area, and this line looks great! Virginia was HORRIBLE last season, as far as BYU goes, their defense is crazy good. They did lose Ziggy, but they have a great core returning. Their record last year wasn't as good as it should have been. They had QB problems; however, now that they have a solid QB returning, I think they will be able to handle Virginia quite easily.
Georgia -2 - 2 Units - With all their players returning, and a chance at a national championship, I just don't see them losing their first game. Georgia should be very focused in this game and should jump out in front fast.
Shocker of the week:
Nevada +21 - 1 Unit - I have been a die hard UCLA fan for quite some time. I have also never liked Nevada. After seeing them last year, I believe that they will be able to cover this spread. I think UCLA will beat them handily, just not by over 21 points. Without Franklin, it may take a few games for UCLA to get back into their groove, expect a close first half for this game.
I have some other plays that I will be doing, however, I am not as confident in them, here they are:
Boise St +3 - 1 Unit
Oklahoma St -13.5 - 1 Unit
Minnesota -14 - 1 Unit
Georgia -1.5 - 2 Units
And for kicks and giggles, here are my week 1 NFL picks:
New England -11.5 -3 Units
Buccaneers -3.5 - 3 Units
Seahawks -3 (this is my all time lock of the week) - 4 Units
Kansas City -4 - 1 Unit
Again, bet at own risk, I could do horrible this year, but here's hoping that I can get some good picks from you guys so that won't happen
