Upset Alert....Huge Line Error Week 1
    Louisiana Tech +14 (+410) @ NC State

This line is crazy imo. Both teams have new coaches and lost alot of starters from last season but LT returns their leading rusher Kenneth Dixon (27 td's) and has 3 seniors on their D-line. Both teams are breaking in new QBs but LT will have it alot easier with the Wolfpack also losing 3 starters out of their secondary.

Bottom line...LT won 9 games last year and will be playing with confidence and Skip Holtz is a helluva coach. This should be a 3-4 pt line at best imo. I like LTs chances straight up except they are replacing both kickers which could cost them in a tight game. Its still worth a shot at +410 and +14 is a gift imo.

      First of all, GL.

One nit. If Skip were a helluva coach, not sure he would have driven South Florida into the ground and got himself fired.

been saying this for a while. this line makes zero sense. Nc state loses a ton of a bad team last year. not sure what LT has but giving nc state opponent 14 pts makes no sense. not sure if nc state is gonna score 21 pts. who knows though this one is a shot in the dark as i dont know enough about LT

Maybe Holtz is better with a smaller school and less pressure.....he had East Carolina going pretty well.

LT lost Colby Cameron who made this offense run properly. Also their D was atrocious. No chance at ML but the spread may be a bit skewed.

La. Tech loses more players than N.C. State. Both teams have new HC's. I sure like Doeren better than Skip Holtz, who destroyed USF, a AAC team. Pass. There are many better choices on the board, IMO.

Thats true but NCS lost 3 of their secondary and LT returns a RB with 27 tds and 3 seniors on the Dline. As for Skip Holtz....East Carolina won 3 of 25 games before he got there and he ended up leading them to 2 straight conf. championships...their 1st since 1976. LT is more his style.....USF is a tough job.....big market but all the big dogs get to pick the state clean before they get a shot.

im a huge East Carolina Fan...just some info when skip was here and was an underdog he covered something like 75 percent of the time...it may have been even better than that, I also remembering when he was a big dog (10 or more) he covered at an even higher rate. WE didnt always pull off the big upset but he was really good at keeping the games close. Just a bit of small info for you guys.

this!........and NC St.'s coach Dave Doeren is the man that built Northern Illinois into a powerhouse...I have much more confidence in him than I do Skip Holtz who's basic claim to fame is that he is the son of legend Lou Holtz and the fact that he had two good seasons at ECU!

Huh....somebody better not tell Jerry Kill that since he won 10 games at NIU in 2010. He might end up having the big Chris Farley coronary on the sideline again. Doeren did a great job but he didn't build anything. Do your homework son!!

you guys have convinced me... LT all the way.... and i agree with the one poster. other than FSU/Florida, i think those florida coaching jobs are very tough ... my only concern is that LT was nothing not that long ago. easy to slip back quickly.... but i'm going LT

La Tech lost the Colby Cameron -> Quinton Patton* connection that made defenses allow Dixon those yards. Colby Cameron is replaced by Zach Griffith who has all of 6 official passing attempts in his 3 year college career. Returning starters on defense for Louisiana Tech is just as likely to be a bad thing as good here. The only two returning for the prolific La Tech offense from last year is RB Dixon and WR3 DJ Banks.

I followed La Tech very closely last year and bet on almost every game they played (skipped Illinois and San Jose State), won most of them. Right now betting on/against La Tech is a crap shoot as most of the players taking the field will be cutting their teeth on Saturday.

Even so, good luck to any that roll the dice on this game.

*Any fantasy football players looking for last round fliers/sleepers...you're welcome.

Both of these teams lost an awful lot from last year and have new coaches. Why is one expected to be 10+ points better than the other? I actually made this game NC State -2

Lets not forget LT lost their BEST player wide receiver Quinton Patton. This guy carried their team last year. He had like over 200 yards in the Texas A&M game. Now with a new QB idk how he will play without a go to guy like Patton. But I agree +14 is a little ridiculous
