2013-2014 NCAAF Tracking Thread

What's up fellas, many of you know me from my NCAABB Thread where we finished about 54% up 30+ units. This is my second favorite sport to cap so lets see what kind of damage we can do this season. I start off very slowly as my week 1 plays will only be 0.5 units, and I will increase my unit size each week all the way up to 3 units. Also I will dial down the units back, towards the end of the season. I feel the money to be made in this sport is during the middle of the season, when I really get a great feel for this year's version of each squad.

Any Official Plays will almost always come with some kind of write up w/ my reasoning.

I haven't made any plays yet, but I do have some early leans:

North Carolina/South Carolina u 56.5

Fresno St -10

Northwestern/California O 58

Boise +3.5

TCU +4

ML Parlay +102
South Carolina -400
Fresno St. -370
Florida St -360

Northwestern only averaged 29 points on the road last season, and Cal only 19.5 at home against FS teams. Cal is also starting a new QB and has a new HC. This is a pretty big number to beat. I would have to pass or go under. I have no idea about UNC-South Carolina. I like the BYU play and the Fresno State play. The ML Parlay is not bad either, but you do not get much for it. Even money instead of 6-1 is too much for me to bite off.

146 Fresno State -10

This matchup stands out to me the most on the Week 1 Card. It features 2 second year coaches coming off 9-4 seasons, however both teams enter this season going in completely different directions. Rutgers is going into a transition period and this is Fresno's year to maybe even make a run at a BCS game.

Rutgers had one of the better defense's in NCAAF last year, and actually held 9 teams to 15 or lower points. That's quite an achievement but they only return 4 starters from that unit. On offense they do return Gary Nova at QB but I've just never been a fan of him. He looks good at times but then he'll turn around and throw 3 picks. He also lost his RB Jawan Jamison who made things much easier on the offense. They are just a very young team, who's building for the Big 10 move while traveling across the country to open the year against a very hungry Bulldog team, which just spells doom.

Fresno on the other hand returns 15 starters including one of the better qb's in the nation in Redshirt Senior Derek Carr. He has weapons all over the field and they play fast, and confident and can light up the scoreboard in a hurry. The defense returns 8 starters from a unit that was very solid last season. I think this team is motivated and pissed off from the way they ended last year by getting smoked in the Hawaii bowl by SMU, 43-10.

This is a very difficult task for the young Knight's to start their season that far away from home against the much more experienced Bulldogs.

I think Fresno's will score on their first drive or 2 which will put Nova in a situation where he has to throw more than he'd like and that will lead to mistakes. In turn, they will make the flight back to Jersey feel like an eternity.

I have no problem laying the 10 in this spot as I see Fresno State winning this game something like 34-13.

Laying $110 to win $100 Fresno State -10

Risking $200 to win $210

Will probably be my only 2 plays for week 1

I'm strongly considering laying some more chalk to start the season w/:

Oklahoma St -12.5 & Penn St -8

Money Line upset pick I'd take a shot w/ UAB +165 over Troy....

Haven't made these plays offical, going to look into them some more...
