This is the best team South Carolina has ever had in the whole history of the university of south carolina and this should be somewhat of a down year for the SEC....

i know they usually lose to some shit squad like Kentucky or Vandy but this years team has too much talent that happen.

That QB they had stephen garcia was a piece of shit , now they finally got a good one in dylan thompson

They have a chance to win the division, but no chance to win the SEC Championship. They simply do not have enough starters returning, and they have a QB controversy, no matter how you want to word it. Spurrier is also known for losing some game he should not lose. South carolina has never lost less than two games in a season under Spurrier and has only won the SEC East once. Auburn crushed them in the CC game. They would be no match against Alabama.

        1. If they have a chance to win the division, they have a chance to win the conference......They absolutely destroyed UGA last season and UGA was 5 yards from beating Alabama

        2. They are loaded with young talent looking for a chance......They have starters returning at the important positions

        3. Spurrier likes running a dual QB system, even at Florida he did this....Both guys are team players

        4. Can't compare Spurrier Gamecocks from like 2005-2008 to the teams the last few years.....Night and day talent wise

        5. Bama is a better team but "no match" is a joke

I do not like doing this, but I cannot resist, because it is so damn appropriate, especially since you did not even know where the game was being played at, despite being told differently.

Until proven otherwise, gotta give the benefit of the doubt to Bama.....But I think if they played it would be a great game

I agree that to say South Carolina would be no match for Alabama is stupid, but to say Alabama is only ranked #1 because of the name on their jerseys is stupid too.

The Gamecocks should be pretty good again this season but before getting there...Spurrier has some issues to overcome. First, he has to replace five of the front seven on defense. None of the linebackers have any experience to speak of and they are lacking in SEC type size. Second, SC was a different team once Lattimore went down last year. The past two seasons Spurrier has run the ball 60 percent of the offensive snaps. Mike Davis is a good back but he's not Lattimore. Establishing a solid running game is essential for the offense...at least it has been the past two seasons. Should be another nice season for the Cocks but not likely a championship one.

Very true. The D-Line should be fine, just as good as last year IMO. Chaz Sutton is a beast and I think he is a slight upgrade from Devin Taylor, who kind of disappointed me a little bit last season. Lattimore is irreplaceable both on and off the field. But the triple threat of Mike Davis, Brandon Wilds, and Connor Shaw should do just fine. I'm liking the Gamecocks schedule (no TA&M, ALA, LSU), so I believe they will make it to the SEC Championship where they will face Texas A&M. Clowney vs. Manziel, the match-up I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see.

South Carolina has 5 returning players on defense. Their D-line has a great player, and little else on it. The LB's are going to have to show improvment. They have a two QB system which never works. This caca about both players being team players is simply not true. Neither QB likes this system. Spurrier will find a way to lose games. With only 36 letterman returning, South Carolina has a lot of unproven players that they are going to have to depend on. They would finish 4th in the West.

I respectfully disagree with you. Chaz Sutton is the DE opposite of Clowney. If you do not know about this kid, you will this year. 6'5'' 263 lbs. Had 5 sacks last season and 2 forced fumbles playing behind Devin Taylor and Clowney. He is a very good player and will benefit immensely with 2 or 3 guys on Clowney basically every play. The LB's are very inexperienced and that is definitely going to be the major weakness on the defense, but with two very talented DE's, it will give them a lot of space to work with especially on passing downs.

And how can you say they are not team players? Both are high character guys and put the team first. Of course they both want to start and play every snap, but who wouldn't? You seem to fail to realize that they return proven players at very important positions. They will be fine at QB, RB, DE, CB. They have one truly proven WR in Bruce Ellington and several highly recruited players who will finally get a chance to play a significant amount of snaps due to the early departure of Ace Sanders.

They do have a lot of unproven players, but these players are talented and were highly recruited. South Carolina has finally turned the corner where they are starting to reload rather than just fill in the gaps with mediocre talent. Of course not on the same level as Bama and LSU do, but they are getting there. I believe they could compete for 2 in the West behind Bama no doubt about it.

                          Just my thoughts...

Chaz Sutton?? Kelsey Quarles?? You have no clue what you're talking about regarding their defensive line

From ESPN (Who has SC DLine ranked #1 in the SEC) http://espn.go.com/blog/sec/post/_/i...fensive-line-4:

                            1. South Carolina: There's more to South Carolina's defensive front than man-beast Jadeveon Clowney. While his 21 career sacks and 35.5 tackles for loss are great, he gets good help from a solid helping of depth, beginning with starters Kelcy Quarles (defensive tackle) and Chaz Sutton (end). Quarles might be one of the most underrated linemen around and should improve on his 3.5 sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss from last year. Sutton was a backup last year, but still registered five sacks and seven tackles for loss. TackleJ.T. Surratt saw action in just 10 games last year, but moves into a starting role this year. Gerald Dixon andGerald Dixon Jr. provide good depth at tackle and end.

2 QB system never works? It worked last year......Spurrier also used it at Florida where he dominated the SEC

Shaw and Thompson not team players? Neither QB likes the system? You're clueless.....They are as high character as it gets and have never done and said anything to show differently.....Please find me anything negative from either guy about the system they're running.....You can't

The only thing you're right about is linebackers and a few other players needing to prove themselves.....everything else is pure bullshit and/or speculation

Oh for sure man, I'll be going down to tailgate for every game and I'll buy tickets down there for every game I can. Really looking forward to this season, I'm loving the schedule. No BAMA, LSU, OR TA&M. I dig it.
