Ole Miss Rebels - Boom or Bust

Ole Miss will enter the fall with 19 returning starters, the most of any SEC team, including the quarterback and four offensive linemen who have a combined 82 starts. Expectations are high...maybe a little unreal. Can the Rebels traslate the energy and enthusiasm from last season into wins this year. Lofty expectations for sure....boom or bust?

A ton of potential in Oxford. First 7 weeks of schedule is brutal. I'd have to say right now, opening night vs Vandy is a must win. At Texas, At Bama, At Auburn, TX A&M, and LSU....man thats rough.

They do have a lot of returning talent and recruited well this past cycle. Still not sold on Bo Wallace at quarterback but if he can be efficient and not turn the ball over, they can win their fair share of games.

Love Donte Moncrief at wideout, one of the most underrated in the SEC, returning 4 starters on O line too....

C.J. Johnson on defense is a monster, going into his junior season, he has All-SEC type ability. Marry and Nkemdiche at linebacker pretty solid as well.

Set the tone right opening nite vs Vandy, then possibly win at Texas and then we may could see something.

I agree on Moncrief. The kid caught 60 plus passes last year with 10 touchdowns. If QB Wallace can have a big year and cut down on his interceptions...this offense has a chance to be pretty good. Freeze is dang good at putting defenses in tough situations.

Will be very interesting how they use freshman Nkemdiche on defense. He should help to provide a good pass rush off the edge. One SEC coach said he could be better than the guy at South Carolina if he will work at it.
